I very worry about Dragonstrike and see his input I tell him don’t worry! Also, get an answer from him. He has been a rough time from work and other things, but he will probably get to post tomorrow. RE: [Meta Thread] Lord Windos' PokeRole Adventure 2: The Wild Lands - Dragonstrike - 08-16-2025 Hey, just a quick update here for those that haven't contacted me via Discord/Steam so far. Been feeling a bit burnt out lately due to multiple reasons, which is why I haven't really been all that active in various places (including here) recently. Kinda missing that creative spark I'd need to make truly good posts, I guess. Maybe due to how slow it's been (not just in this campaign, but in others I'm also participating in), maybe due to work sapping a lot of my energy (inventory day was immediately followed by the back-to-school season, and that's been chaos). As for the recent events in this campaign: - I've kinda lost the chance to have my opinion matter on the vote, but for the record, I'm in favor of the retcon. - For some clarity and Windos's peace of mind, no, you haven't done anything wrong. Sorry I haven't been communicating with you on that. - I have still been keeping up with recent posts despite not having been posting myself. Okay, I think that's everything? There might be more I'm forgetting. But that should be the core of most of it. I need to lay down for a bit, so I'll check back in on this and respond if needed at a later time. RE: [Meta Thread] Lord Windos' PokeRole Adventure 2: The Wild Lands - Spiritmon - 08-17-2025 Not gonna lie, I not that thrilled with the path of retcon, but I gonna get over it eventually. I minority here, and I must respect and accept the majority decision. So…let’s go with retcon path. RE: [Meta Thread] Lord Windos' PokeRole Adventure 2: The Wild Lands - PhantomUnderYourDesk - 08-17-2025 To you, Spirit: Pretty sure there'll be enough opportunities for you to shine and prove yourself, yey yes! We haven't left the starting-cuty yet after all. Hopefully and perhaps less deadly ones at best. To you, Dragon: Please rest and recharge indeed, take it easy for as long as necessary. Am sending you plenty of mental strength to feel better soon. Burnout takes a very individual time to overcome, I know that very well myself, so do take your time. RE: [Meta Thread] Lord Windos' PokeRole Adventure 2: The Wild Lands - Redstone - 08-18-2025 I mentioned graduating a while back didn't I. Well next month life will really start for me. I got an apprenticeship lined up and will be in college at the same time (its a system which I've pretty much only seen in Germany so far) and I also turned 20 today, so some really big steps to take in early adulting. Notably this should not impact my ability to post by that much, the hours are pretty generous and I still have my free afternoons. Thank you funny people in my screen for bringing me joy \o/ RE: [Meta Thread] Lord Windos' PokeRole Adventure 2: The Wild Lands - PhantomUnderYourDesk - 08-18-2025 OOUUOUOUOUUU that sound exciting as heck!! Anxiety-inducing, that too, but nevertheless very exciting! Whatcha going to study, can I ask that? Also a happy birthdayyyy! Hope you are having (or had) a great day, here's some cake for you: (*・ω・)ノ”┌iii┐♡ RE: [Meta Thread] Lord Windos' PokeRole Adventure 2: The Wild Lands - Redstone - 08-18-2025 (08-18-2025, 01:11 PM)PhantomUnderYourDesk Wrote: OOUUOUOUOUUU that sound exciting as heck!! Whatcha going to study, can I ask that? kinda hard to translate but the apprenticeship is electrician for operative technology and the college stuff is for electrical engineering, a combo that goes hand in hand. hehe thank you! I did indeed have a great day with le family. RE: [Meta Thread] Lord Windos' PokeRole Adventure 2: The Wild Lands - Spiritmon - 08-18-2025 I wish to you an awesome time my friend. Hope your plans come to fruition and be rewarded by them. And as Phantom said, happy birthday my friend! RE: [Meta Thread] Lord Windos' PokeRole Adventure 2: The Wild Lands - Spiritmon - 08-18-2025 You know, there is one thing I enjoy quite a lot which is character analysis. More specifically, mirror traits. Characters who have similar traits or experiences but in how they react to said experiences. I said this once with Dragonstrike in one of our voice calls, but in certain ways, I see Oz and Seddi as two sides of the same coin. Both had an incredibly difficult path. Both had to learn and work with how they were available at the time. Both have a really deep understanding and connection to their Pokémon as companions or even family. And both had a life defining moment in their lives who changed them forever. But in many ways they are mirroring opposites: Seddi started his life with Charcadet only and no one else. Oz, despite its rough moments, had family and friends. But when tragedy strikes both might have run from responsibility: But where Seddi rises to the top to become a hero and get “free” from his path and in Oz words, become the white hero. Oz on the spectrum falls into the darkness of regret and guilt, and to this day still a prisoner of the past. One is a normal human and does not have magical powers and yet is free like the Sky and is considered a hero. While the other have magical abilities and should represent the Sky, and yet is a prisoner of herself and if people would find out about her failure and she running away from her duty , would be considered a heretical and a shame not only to her family but to the Sky Scimitars as a whole. The White Hero of Paldea and the Black Witch of Sütalor. Two people defined by tragedies. Where one rises to duty when duty calls, the other shies away from it. One wants to live while the other wanted death. But I did notice another person who pretty much mirrors Oz also: Bernard. Both are Sky Scimitars. Both have a connection to Magic. And in some way or another are connected to Morgana. And both have a strong bond with their Pokémon. But then again, mirror in opposite directions. Bernard is a more logical person and has a strong mindset. Oz is a more emotional person and a mind and spirit broken by regret, shame and self-doubt. Bernard is the pride and honor of the Scimitars to the point of being an ArcMage. Oz again doesn’t see value in herself, and if people would find out what she did, it would be considered a shame to her people. Bernard wields magic by studying magic for years and is guided by knowledge. Oz never was good at magic to begin with, and although she did study a bit about magic, her studies was more focused on healing, and her way of “wielding” magic is more akin to instinct and imagination, kinda nature's way. In dnd terms Bernard would probably be a Wizard while Oz would be a Druid or Sorcerer, at least in my eyes. Bernard keep his Pokémon inside their Pokeballs and in his gauntlet (with one of his exceptions be Zephy) and rely more of his magical abilities, Oz keep her sisters most of the time outside of their Pokeballs, and giving them quite a lot of love and attention, and in very rare occasions relying on her Scimitars skills. And finally Bernard is proud of his Scimitar heritage and embraces it, while Oz doesn’t like her heritage and sees more of a curse than a blessing due to her traumas. Forgive me for this big post, but I had a big brainstorming while thinking about this topic, and wanted to post here. Maybe started a discussion? I wanted to hear what you people think about it. What points do you all agree or disagree with? Am I over analyzing things? Did I forget a point in my post? What characters have similar traits and mirror traits? I really curious to hear your thoughts, and make this thread even more active. RE: [Meta Thread] Lord Windos' PokeRole Adventure 2: The Wild Lands - PhantomUnderYourDesk - 08-19-2025 (08-18-2025, 03:49 PM)Spiritmon Wrote: (...)But I did notice another person who pretty much mirrors Oz also: Bernard. I like that 'mirror'-aspect! A few additional Points that come to mind: --You know nothing about Bern's past and former life aside from very few minor hints here and there (・ω<)☆ And good luck trying to get anything out of him! If you did, you'd know why he is so logical and stoic and everything. He CAN be very emotional if you press the right (or wrong) Buttons though. -- He and Oz DO have one thing in Common, but the outcome/result is VERY different. While Oz and irl-me too are still haunted by their trauma-demons, Bern pressed on, made the best out of it over the years, decades even. Literally what doesn't kill you, either gives you lifelong trauma and weakens your body and mind; or makes you stronger in the long run if you put in enough effort. Literally the ideal that I strive for myself, let the past be the past, learn from it, and move on. -- How either treat their Pokemon kinda represents their Fraction, Moderate in Bern's case and Radical in Oz's case. |
