The dice do what they will, my friend. No need to get blamey. That battle was ruinous. At least Ventus got all cheered up by Lucifer later on!
Yeah, dragon rage is broken with small HP pools, and ridiculous even with half decent ones. Something with a large HP pool doesn't mind nearly as much, though.
If our recent battles have said anything, though, it's 'the dice spit on your supposed advantages.'

Woahw. He's indeed rather empathic if he picked THAT up from the distance.
Or he grew close enough to her meanwhile to be capable of such.

I feel that if I knew that Charmeleon had that move before hand, I would have made a condition that he could not use it, if I could not use healing items. They is no coutner play to it besides being beefy as heck or healing it up. It either misses, and your fine, or it hits, and you lose 1/3 to 1/2 of your HP in one go. No damage mitigation, no saving grace besides a miss chance, nothing. I could have evaded, but I have no points invested in that trait at all, so what else could I do but focus my attacks? Now I feel just bad, mates....

It was a pretty fair fight. Corsola deals 1 automatic damage on any hit, and has a huge damage potential even without that (averaging 2 additional dmg). Corsola's damage output is significantly higher than Charmeleon's with Dragon Rage. The pokemon had similar dice pools and HP. It just came down to unlucky dice.
The counter play is evasion, and maybe I should have paused the battle after the first round to give you a chance to try that.

I understand, Iron, but it just seems like for every step I take in battles, it seems like those dice suddenly want to murder me. Bloody hell...if this keeps happening, I'm might start begging for an automatic success after repeated failures to do anything useful!

Iron, where's my battle against that boy who wanted to have the herbs of mine? :C

That's what Will Points are for! I will definitely be handing some of those out after the Genesect statue dealio is complete.
And if it makes you feel any better, during D&D the other day, those same two dice gave me a critical hit sneak attack of....4 damage. Out of a possible 24.

Sorry, I wasn't sure if you wanted to agree to his arrogant terms or not. Coming up!

Hearing the misfortune of other always cheers me up, so thank you! Anyway, I have a question: Since my character is from Opelucid City, and had positive association with Dragon types, does he gain any bonus from his background with them? I'm genuinely curios about this!

Thanks! Maybe should have made that more clear in the first place, you're right on this.
