RE: [Game Thread] Pokerole: Mount Coronet Mystery - Dragonstrike - 07-02-2019 (07-02-2019, 05:24 PM)PhantomUnderYourDesk Wrote: +1 exp for Kee and Octavia for the art! ----------------------------------------- Yup, Juhani does indeed like the snow, though that probably wasn't the case at first. After she's done jumping and running around, though, she calms down and almost seems to ignore the cold weather entirely. She doesn't mind that nobody's joining in her fun and games, either. In fact, she kinda prefers it that way, being a rather solitary creature at the moment. Kee respecting her space doesn't go unnoticed, though, as a small part of Juhani does appreciate that. It's weird, as being a starter pokemon, she has a natural instinct to work together with humans. But also having survived in this harsh climate, she also has an 'every pokemon for themselves' mentality at times. This Delta Grotle can sometimes be quite contrary, apparently... ------------------------------------------------ Ah, so we're looking for international trainers from regions that have some Fire types, are we? Well, let's see what comes up... Ra: (6) Rare Di: (3) Easy Re: (1) Tohjo Pokemon Breeder Felix from the Tohjo area has arrived with a bunch of pokemon eggs in tow! A Ninetales is accompanying him and carefully warming the eggs with her fire. Ra: (4) Uncommon Di: (2) Easy Re: (6) Tandor Lass Dominique from Tandor is showing off her hard to find Fire type pokemon. It should be noted that even with Thick Fat active, Juhani doesn't want to go anywhere near Fire types, period. RE: [Game Thread] Pokerole: Mount Coronet Mystery - Spiritmon - 07-02-2019 My choice will be...Izanami! But for better disguise she gonna take the form of...Susano'o! With some luck, she might bring Meditite. RE: [Game Thread] Pokerole: Mount Coronet Mystery - Dragonstrike - 07-02-2019 Candice doesn't start with a Meditite or Medicham. Instead, she starts with her Sneasel, the one weaker pokemon in her selection that she hadn't used yesterday. Candice looks a little downcast at seeing Susano'o, though she's always quick to perk back up. "Aw man, is that another Steel type? Dang, this is probably going to be difficult, then...well, let's give it our best shot, Sneasel!" Round 1 Initiatives Nami (Susano'o): (5) + 11 = 16 Sneasel: (4) + 11 = 15 Nami is baaaarely able to go first thanks to her Quick Claw. Cue the music!: VS Sinnoh Gym Leader - Pokemon Black 2/White 2 RE: [Game Thread] Pokerole: Mount Coronet Mystery - Spiritmon - 07-02-2019 Kogeki think for a few what would be the best approach. "Hmm, what to do....Candice think Nami is a steel type, but she bring Snease, and Dark type is the worse enemy of a ghost...." Kogeki think to himself those questions, until he was able to form a strategy against such enemy! I think it's time for Kogeki +1 point of Insight using 20 XP. After such difficult against tough foes like Primal Rampardos and Alexis, Kogeki get used to odds be against him. But he is a ninja. And if there is a ninja is master is in the art of deceiving and unpredictable attacks. And if this strategy works, he might have a chance of take Izanami out of the battlefield with no scratches. Kogeki whisper to Izanami who was trying to hide her sweat in the presence of such enemy. "Nami, we might have a chance of pull off a plan to set defenses and get this fight almost unscratched. We must use Hypnosis against Sneasel (using Will Point of her to make it sure it will work). Then set Reflect and Light Screen to prepare everything to Heracross dealt good damage against Sneasel." "It's a gamble I know but....just this once, trust me." RE: [Game Thread] Pokerole: Mount Coronet Mystery - Dragonstrike - 07-02-2019 Kogeki VS Candice Round 1 "Alright Sneasel, you know what to do when it comes to Steel types! Dark moves, go!" But what comes next catches the Gym Leader off guard completely. The fish pokemon stares deep into the kitty cat's eyes... Hypnosis 1 (4)(1)(2) + 1 from Will (Spend one of Nami's Will Points!) Sneasel falls Asleep! "...wha...? What the heck just happened? Sneasel, come on, wake up!" Wake Up 1 (6)(4)(6) Wow, okay then. 3 successes accumulated Nami very much agrees with that plan of setting up defenses, but not because it'll help protect everyone else. Her main goal is to protect herself from this Dark type! And if she has to cover this entire battlefield in sparkly barriers, so be it! Reflect 1 (5)(5)(2)(2)(2) *ping!* Reflect is protecting Kogeki's side of the field! Wake Up 2 (3)(3)(4) 4 successes accumulated Light Screen 3 (5)(4)(4) *shwing!* Light Screen protects Kogeki's side of the field! Wake Up 3 (4)(5)(3) Sneasel wakes up! "...okay, something's screwy here. Sneasel, find out what's going on here! Keep going with our original plan!" Sneasel is faster than most of Candice's pokemon, and is thus able to risk using a 4th action! One moment, she's in front of the 'fish'... ...and the next, she's dodged to the side and delivered the attack from that angle instead! Feint Attack 4 11 - 8 = 3 (6)(3)(3) 4 Str + 2 Pow + STAB - 3 Def + QE - R = 4 D6 + 1 (6)(5)(3)(4) Nami takes 4 damage! 4/8 HP -2 Pain The Illusion shatters, revealing that Sneasel's opponent was a Psychic type all along! Nami screeches in pain as that cat wakes up and manages to land a strong blow on her. The good news, though: she's not fainted. Even though she didn't get out of it unscathed, the plan worked! She can get the heck out of dodge and attempt to set those screens up again later! 3 Rounds of Screens left. Kogeki switches Nami out for Heracross! Round 2 Initiaitves Sneasel: 15 (4 Dex) Heracross: (6) + 9 = 15 (3 Dex) Sneasel goes first! Heracross gives the kitty the usual staredown as soon as he's on the battlefield. Intimidate: (5)(5)(4)(1)(5)(6)(1)(4)(5)(3)(3) 6 successes Sneasel's Will: (5)(4)(4)(4)(4)(6)(3)(2) 6 successes Sneasel holds the stare, confident that she can beat this burly bug despite the major type disadvantage! "That's the spirit, Sneasel! Let's do this!" RE: [Game Thread] Pokerole: Mount Coronet Mystery - Spiritmon - 07-02-2019 "Time to put that Sneasel in her place. Now, use Counter in case she use a attack against ya. But in case she didn't use, use Brick Break instead, depending how she will attack. Then go ahead with 3x Arm Thrust! Let's see she dodge this big barrage of attacks!" RE: [Game Thread] Pokerole: Mount Coronet Mystery - Dragonstrike - 07-02-2019 Kogeki vs Candice Round 2 Sneasel goes straight for the attack, jumping into the air and coming down on the Fighting type with aerial force! Aerial Ace 1 (6)(5)(1)(2)(3)(6)(4)(1)(5) Fortunately, the Reflect deflects a portion of the blow, preventing it from being as strong a hit as it could have been. 4 + 2 - 3 - R + QE = 3 D6 + 1 damage (6)(3)(1) Heracross takes 2 damage! 6/8 HP -1 Pain Heracross counterattacks by throwing Sneasel across the room! Counter 1 10 - 2 - 1 = 7 (4)(3)(2)(1)(5)(1)(4) (4)(4)(4)(3)(1) Sneasel takes 3 damage! 4/7 HP -1 Pain (Sneasel has Keen Eye) Sneasel gets right back up and extends her claws, then runs right up to Heracross to try and deal a devastating blow! Slash 2 11 - 1 - 4 = 7 (6)(2)(4)(1)(3)(2)(6) 4 + 3 - 3 - R = 4 D6 - 1 (1)(1)(5)(5) The attack just bounces off of the Reflect! Heracross grabs Sneasel and repeatedly rams her into the walls, floor, snowmen, snowballs...anything that's nearby! Arm Thrust 2-4 10 - 1 - 4/6/8 = 5/3/1 (1)(5)(3)(5)(2) (2)(5)(5) (4) Hit 3 times! 1 + 4* + STAB - 3 + QE = 2 D6 + 2 per hit (5)(2)(4) (3)(3)(2) (5)(3)(4) Sneasel eats her Chople Berry, but to no avail! Sneasel takes 9 damage and faints! Heracross gives Kogeki a sideeyed look. Was that Counter really necessary? He coulda OHKOed that chump with his Arm Thrusts! Candice sighs. "...only so much that type resist berries can do against that many attacks...yup, this definitely seems like it's going to be difficult. Okay then, time to get a bit more serious, Candice! Don't think you're going to win yet, Kogeki! I've still got three more pokemon to use!" Candice has her next pokemon prepared. Is Kogeki going to switch? RE: [Game Thread] Pokerole: Mount Coronet Mystery - Spiritmon - 07-02-2019 Hmm...in theory he is might expecting me to change Heracross... Heracross must be unsatisfied for such quick battle. He will stay. RE: [Game Thread] Pokerole: Mount Coronet Mystery - Dragonstrike - 07-02-2019 Candice's next pokemon is Medicham! Heracross glares at the Psychic type. Round 3 Initiatives Heracross: 15 Medicham: (1) + 10 = 11 RE: [Game Thread] Pokerole: Mount Coronet Mystery - Mikaruge108 - 07-03-2019 let's go with option 3 |
