Haha, probably, yes. But now he can't run away, and if he'd try to, she'd be hurt.
However, I helped him a little by opening up about the distress.

Yeah, that could throw a wrench in things...but Nathan will do his best to keep it from jamming the works if things start going wrong.

Hmm, I feel while Nathan's visit surely helped, it didn't encourage poor Shiva enough to get downstairs yet. :C I'm putting trust in Azurill!
@Lord Windos, suggestion: Remind her on her niche in the party, similar like there in Ginger Town! I feel this could help. As an empath, he should pick up that while Shiva pretends to be fine as she (hopefully) joins the others now, she's actually still insecure whether it was the right decision to come downstairs.

He is going to be hyper focus on your character now , so be prepared for Ventus to mother hen you all tomorrow ! He wants Shiva to get better , not worse ! Delta Houndour might be a problem , but if Ben can handle it , surely Shiva can !

Nathan did say he's willing to talk about anything she might have questions about. That includes the topic of his depression and how he's been dealing with it, even if it is an uncomfortable topic.
If Shiva thinks about it a little, she might not even have to ask about the basic details since she has all the puzzle pieces for the basic story behind Nathan's depression already.

*puts on Rock Helmet* Now I'm prepared! She still doesn't want to put a single step into the Gym, not only because there are Ghost Types in there that could only make things worse... Plus, I need my rodents for my own battle, so sadly no cheering this time.

Well, we still haven't told Shiva in-character what the gym leader is like nor what type he uses...I doubt it'd be encouraging, though.
