"Perhaps a total battle with a disobedient Pokemon wasn't the best idea. Here I come with a little better Pokemon! Go Aron!" Then Aron was free from his Pokeball. "Alright. Now with that, we might have a vantage. Ghost and electric it's very useful against Steel!" Heart was worry about Koa, but Koa still resolute to continue the battle. 

Heart smile then give orders. "Okay Koa! Give your bests Dual Chops against that Gastly! Aron, use Iron Head against Gastly three times! If Gastly Headbutt against Luxio instead!

Action: Let fate decided if I win this battle or taste defeat!

Most classrooms are outdoor? What a nice thought... Even if it may get less enjoyable during hot summer days or heavy rainfall. There'll be enough time for Shiva to find out what will be done in such cases then, as the eager to take one or two of these one-week classes has just grown stronger with knowing that they can be taken without having to be enrolled!~ Sounds like a good change to see whether a student's life matches her.

Back to Torch though, enough silent pondering. "Many thanks for that info. I indeed have heard of region called 'Tandor' from other sources by now. Though, that Nuclear Type is something new to me... A pity that the course is shallow, but maybe that's because it's a difficult topic? Eh, anyway..." The mentioning of a new Eeveelution being this weird Type got her all ears. Sure, the feeling that Nuclear Type is probably nothing healthy and/or even dangerous to handle (radiation?) still scares her, but what if a happy and well-treated Eevee evolves into a 'Nucleon'... Could it be controlled? Would it remember the tender care it enjoyed as an Eevee?


New semi-goal for Shiva: Get her own Nucleon sometime. This probably won't happen during this campaign as she needs to breed more Eevees first and obtain a Nuclear Type to enable evolution (unless there is, in theory, a different method or the Almanac has alternatives for this evolution?), but this doesn't mean that she cannot enjoy the thought of owning this Eeveelution or collect information about it, can she?


Oh right, the myth about heavy metal Pokemon in Chreshire(!?) is also noted, although, Shiva still does not really crave for Legendary Pokemon. Good call to not mention the corrupted Nuclear Pokemon and meltdowns, as these would be the things that'd creep her out greatly.

Shiva thankfully accepts Porygon-Z with a soft smile. Nothing was visible, nor traceable of the mischief that was hidden behind that smile. "Many thanks, Nathan. Had to, ehm, place him on PC for short for reasons...I gathered so many neat Pokemon meanwhile!~ You wanted a photo of my panda, didn't you?"

"Now, Porygon.... -Z, I mean, just follow me please." She leads him to one of the PCs of the GPC, and makes sure to choose one at a spot where she cannot be seen from the Lobby. As well as out of earsight (not that it's 'quiet' in a big Pokemon Center anyway) and capable of noticing when someone approaches. All these where safety measures she didn't really know why she took them at all... Well, safety maybe? It's not like she was doing anything illegal here... Shady, yes, but she knew there was nothing to fear if the League would find out. The same couldn't be said for her travel companions though, as Shiva couldn't estimate with 100% secureness how they would react if they'd find out... Ven was the one she felt would be accepting the most if she'd explain her reasons, but maybe it was better to do her own thing here and not get anyone else involved. Her mind was SET on this. Nothing would ever change and never would she learn to follow her own way if she allows herself to be persuaded too much to abstain or agree to something that'd go against her own interests.

With that thought in mind, she looked around again just to soothe herself, before taking a calm deep breath and placing both a CD (the eggchecker was a 'software' if I remember correctly, was it, Iron?) into the drive of PC and something that looked like an older model of a Pokedex onto the free space between the keyboard of PC and herself, before turning to Porygon-Z.

"Listen, Porygon. Z. The CD I put into the PC contains a software I really want to use, and especially want to use on THIS 'Pokedex' *showing it to Porygon* The problem is, that the software is not compatible with this 'Dex', as it's not one that I got from Professor Mallorn. This is where you and your brilliant skills come into play... Do you think you could hack the software enough to enable compatibility? I know you can without destroying the software. I'll let you have a handful of dried berries and Gourmet Food in return."

Seems like that 'glitch on PC' was bluff.

Before Shiva returns to Nathan, she also adds the Egg-Checker to her 'Pokedex' and checks the Status of both Mystery Eggs she carries, skipping trying to identify the species - what's about pedigree and gestation process instead?

Once THAT has been done, she switches her party a little on the PC, containing i.a. Pancham, Yena and Kyuu now, as well as having a free spot to accept Raphael's Pokeball from Nathan. The psychic kitten was summoned to her side and immediately received a few strokes through his grey fur (as always, leaving the ears alone - would the Espurr ever allow Shiva to touch them?). It's more a feeling and Shiva wants to spend a little more time outside of battle with him, but it also means that this Espurr will be present during the revelation of the Delta Houndour.

Back to Nathan now. Again, nothing showed or hinted of what she just did, neither outside nor on her emotions. There was a trace of a shy satisfaction on her though that could mean anything for an onlooker. *handing Porygon-Z back to its owner* "I say it again, many thanks. Now, you want to talk you say? Here, or in one of these 'backrooms'?" Probably will be the latter to Shiva's guess, and that rarely - or ever - means anything really positive.

At this point, Nathan's finished the lasagna and has moved on to the leftover cake.  Unlike the lasagna, he's not picking at it, so it won't take him long to finish it off.

"Yeah, I wanted a photo of Pancham.  If you don't mind, I'd like to get that done right now if possible."

As for location...

"...yeah, a back room would probably be best...really wish it didn't have to be, though..."

Nathan wishes it could represent something positive for once, too...he recalls Porygon-Z before everyone heads back there.

" With one arm, Shiva keeps her psychic kitten close to her self, while she rummages around in her pocket until she found Pancham's Pokeball. As usual, it turns half transparent when being touched by her to see the status of the Pokemon inside. "You're lucky, as he's awake and cleaning his fur. Now, enjoy!~ Oh right, if you want a specific pose or such just ask him kindly. He's noble and proud from the start, so he might agree to show off some of his moves..."

The panda has been summoned directly on the table, where he yawns and greets his mother Shiva with a delighted low chirp. He still carries the fluff Cottonee once shed as well as a shard of the black spotted egg with him. While Nathan takes his photo (or photos) of him, Shiva gently rearranges the scarf of hers Kyuu is still wearing and brushes through his grey tousled fur with the same brush she already used once to free Cottonee's fluff from Deyo, earning purrs and shy cuddles from her psychic kitten. How could Shiva even consider not making such a sweetheart part of her main team...

Along the way, Shiva couldn't help but to ponder about more 'positive' uses of these backrooms present in any Pokemon Center... They're mostly designed for private conversations, right? She didn't even wanted to know how many declarations of love happened there, as well as giftings of rare Pokemon or items and successful job interviews occured in these rooms. Every of these conversations left an invisible mark to the room, adding to its atmosphere as she felt...

Indeed, the one Nathan led her to was filled with meaningful silence and emptiness. Her expression got deadly serious as she took a seat at the table and she spend a while simply gazing away from Nathan and instead outside the window, and mood lighted up rather quickly though, as quickly as it got deadly serious a moment ago. "Now, do tell me though...  What was wrong with you last night? You didn't seem to enjoy the food Heart has prepared for us as much as we others did, and Kirlia has given me clear signals that something's not okay. You know you can tell me things and worries if you like."


(Keep in mind that Shiva is still definitely the wrong person to speak about missing a father's figure in life, just in case.)

A Bittersweet Conversation: Once We Part Ways - Xenoblade Chronicles

Kirlia nudges Nathan, encouraging him to just tell her. 

He sighs, leaning on the edge of the table, looking rather sad and...burdened.

It also kinda matches what Shiva already asssumed might have caused this weird behaviour back yesterday during dining. Of course - she does remember what he once told her about THAT part. Still, she couldn't help but to mentally shake her head at this reaction, at seeing Nathan so fragile. He still was bad at hiding any emtions, when something's wrong, it was easy to notice for her. That's nothing bad actually as it makes him honest - but it also was capable of ruining moments.

Doesn't matter though as she has to accept and deal with that - as well of take care from the mood decreasing any ore than it already did. In such moments, it was clearly visible what distinguished her care for Nathan from her care for Ventus - the latter was strong, and allowed her to lean into (what Shiva thankfully does). The former, needs a friend and someone who was strong he wasn't. Seems like Shiva has taken this role without even noticing until now. Weird... She wasn't even strong' to her taste. But maybe, subliminally there was a dormant disposition that awoke when being called for?

Fine... It took a little until Shiva even answered to that, she kept her gaze non-threathingly fixated on Nathan. It's not too hard to guess that he doesn't feel too well when he's so fragile, but he can consider himself lucky that she was there. Despite everything, she still was. "...Nathan...Now, look at me." ... "Good. This explains a lot. None is scolding you for reacting like this, yet it'd be wrong to say that I'd rather enjoy a dinner that we all can enjoy... But I thank theed for opening up toards me. Now, listen, from what I am getting, this isn't a memory that deserves to be remembered with sadness. More like...It feels like a happy memory to me... Didn't you enjoy the times when, well, he came home and you all were gathered around the table for enjoying the food he prepared? Why let sadness and negativity plaque this memory? Of course, that's the instant emotion that may come into mind, that's nothing new. But, at least try to see this in a different way. Just once. As a memory to keep close and treasure..." She sighed impercible and somewhat hesitated to keep speaking. The slight discomfort she felt got channeled by her stroking through a strand of her hair. "Allow me to give you an quick example of this. Like, years ago when Spectral was still and Eevee and me was around 11 years old, she tried to be mischievous and developed the habit to hit me with a full Take Down when she wanted to play. Once when she did that, she caused me almost fall down the stairs that connected our floor and the Egg Room. Of course she was incredibly sorry and me incredibly scared. But in the end, she perfected Wish due to that 'event'... Today, I can think of that as a delightful event instead of pondering about what could have happened if I DID fall down the stairs."

"As for what I did today...did a little bit of research, some training.  Had a battle with a trainer called Sid.  Almost blew me away with how fast he was.  Swiftfire could barely keep up, even when she used Flame Charge.  Apparently some call him the 'East Wind.'  Makes me wonder who or what would be called the West and South Winds since Suicune is sometimes referred to as the North Wind..."

No response came from Shiva, as she just listened to what said further about that 'issue' with a carefuly expression and her arms loosely crossed while they keep Kyuu close her chest, as well as watching how Kirlia tried to help his owner. Indeed, loyal Pokemon being there for one are something great and valuable... Still Shiva got the feeling that the bond between Owner and Pokemon was a different one that she shared with her own companions. Not in a bad way though... She trains them differently, she probably thinks about them in a different manner, they were simply... ... ...what actually? Shiva failed to find words that described this in properly, which was noteable on its own.

Only when Nathan asked 'what kind of Pokemon is it?', a track of mind ended suddenly and she was back down on earth with her thoughts. "...Well... That'd be a Poochyena. These hyenalike hounds with the mighty bite... I stumbled over it on Route 4, or it crossed my path while I was following the path - that'd be a better description. Later at the camp while doing a bit of stargazing he came to me again and eventually he staying a Pokeball. Do forgive me that I cannot call him out to show you first-hand, as I, ehm, rather not distress Kyuu without a reason. It's Dark Type, know... That relieved me as it shows that it's not one of these... Delta Species. A photo will do for now." She got a weird expression when saying this - like being forced to swallow a bitter liquid. It only lasted for a moment though, as after drawing cell and typing+swiping on its screen she turned it around to show Nathan a photo she took of Yena - it clearly shows the tiny Butterfree-wings and with a bit of imagination one would realize this creature is indeed bioluminescent. "It seems to be some sort of adaptation, and these wings give him a unique ability. He doesn't seem to be aggressive as he obeys me and allows careful pets from my side, neither does he show weird behaviour that may hint to a messed up gene pool. Breeding weir hybrids is something I don't agree to, it's a grey area in Unova and something a professional Breeder just does not do. ...If I am honest and am allowed to say it, I...thought about giving it to Professor Mallorn to study for a while, before realizing this Pokemon can be a useful companion where Ghost Types dwell. For the same reason I've been looking into the creation of Cleanse Tags. Needs a little more effort from my side though... I'll ask again when heading into the Ruins or hiking through Earthstar Forest becomes a real thing."

"A student from the local Extension told me about the Nuclear Type. There's even a course of study here, and Dagny seems to study those as Steel counters them... It sounds like not the healthiest Type, but there is an Evolution of Eevee that bears that Type, originating from Tandor that I never heard of - It calls itself 'Nucleon'. Matches greatly, now does it?~ I wonder if you ever heard about this?" Again she was reminded on these Delta Species, but she hoped that the thing about Nuclears was something different.

"As for the South Wind... The Fortune Hunter - you might have seen her selling treasures on Route 4 - has gifted me about a while ago. It contains native music - with lyrics! - from Hog Potato Swamp. Once piece especially mentions the South Wind - 'Your breath is the southern wind... The forests have been thinned... See Mother Nature cry'. From a different source I got to know that the folk was capable to summon the South Wind Incarnate with their music and instruments. They call this Incanate 'she', and 'she' flies them northward with no return home. The end of the earth hosts 'her' and other legends. Whatever this all may mean - it DOES mean something."

"Oh right, I also did not know until now that we're actually in the Southern Hemisphere - this enables seeing strange and unique stars of Chreshire. It seems there is a rare chance to find a unique legend in these unique stars. My telescope lies safely at a shelf in my room at home though."


(Actually, I kinda wonder at this point how the others of the group would react to hear about all this as well. Especially Ventus, I don't really know why.)

Nathan's actually rather puzzled when he hears Shiva talk about this Poocheyena and Nuclear pokemon...but he actually responds to Shiva's comments on that folklore first.
