The Skirl starts with a few slow arpeggiated notes from the shamisens. Then the whistles take over, played by those without so much training, sliding up and down to outline the melody. The Pokemon begin Lucky Chant and stomping in time - even the Metagross get into it, without being asked. The village shakes, and the first tiny raindrops begin to fall from the sky.

Then the Skirl picks up, flowing into the familiar melody that fits the lyrics of the Skirl of the Southern Wind, backed by that marching rhythm, the backbone of the melody.

Hum
Breathe
Your breath is the southern wind.

Hum
Breathe
The forests have been thinned.

Cotton
And fruit
Grown tall by summer storm

Cotton
Fruit
Her wool will keep you warm

Hum and breath throughout the mangroves ring
Now bathed in water borne of swamp and spring.
The sleepy hunter watched the sky and grinned
His spirit carried on the breath of southern wind.

Hum
Breathe
The seasons pass us by

Hum
Breathe
See Mother Nature cry.

The Elder leads the melodic counterpoint on his flute, a motion that is clearly well practiced. The way he plays it is fantastically complex, sometimes implying the melody rather than playing it directly.

The song builds to its climax and you begin to feel the energy building all around you in response. Valder's Piloswine is there, glowing with Ancient Power. The other mystical or psychic Pokemon, such as Kirlia and Cottonee, all have expressions of joy on their faces, eyes closed to connect. There is no sign of a change in the wind yet, however, but the song and ritual are not yet over.

I'll let you all post a little more in response to this, and then there will be a roll based on what I see.

Heart decides to bring Phantump to help in that ritual. He takes the Thump Harp he buy and decided to at least try to follow the music and tone from everyone. Since the guy say the Thump Harp is one of easy instruments to use, Heart decided to take a try. Since Phantump its a spirit of nature (sort of...) perhaps this might help to bring the South Wind.

(Roll Knowledge + Insight + Perform to see if this works?)

Orthros and Kirlia, both with eyes closed and looking very happy...the Castform egg in his lap as he does his best to keep it warm and safe...

No wind yet, but...Kirlia seems to think it's working...

Nathan hopes it does...for the sake of his mom, Max, Stair City, Creshire...

...the two newly arrived lives in his care (Ditto and that Castform egg) that have yet to even see how beautiful this world they live in is...

He doesn't really care what happens to him, so long as everyone else stays safe and unharmed...

As skeptical as Nathan was before, there's a glimmer of hope for him to latch on to now...and he's wishing with all his heart for it to not turn out to be false hope...

A certain sense of Fatefullness, Awe, and eager Tension that had descended upon the gathering and pervaded Ventus' empathy, slowly building its way up to crescendo that he was certain would take all their breath's away. Raphael, in rare and bold move on their part, forced themselves out of their ball and contributed to the atmosphere by channeling their natural festive powers and Serene Grace to provide their own blessing to the Summoning Ritual. They instinctually knew that this occasion was extremely important for everyone involved, and they felt the needed to contribute what little aid that was within their ability and power! Lilith was doing whatever she thought was necessary to help summon the Southern Wind Incarnate (What exactly is for you to decide, Iron), while the sociologist closed his eyes, cleared his mind, and with great deliberation on their part quietly sent a prayer up to the heavens to entreat their aid.

"Southern Wind Incarnate, on behalf of the people of Stair City, who are in peril because of insidious and dangerous Vines, I ask for your boon, to ferry us to the Ends of the Earth, so that my group can put an end to this Crisis. If the Vines are not stopped, all of Cheshire faces extinction at their chocking grasp, so I beg of you, we require your help.....!"

Order: Have Raphael use their inherent powers and Serene Grace to increase the odds that this work, Lilith does her part, and Ventus prays directly to the wind spirit itself. If it helps, I'm also praying that we succeed with this task..... If possible, I'd also like a roll on his Shamisen Preformance, if it increases the odds of the S.W.I. actually helping us out!

Lilith has her neck stretched out and beak open wide, giving a clear call that you can feel rather than hear.

The incoming of the flute was the sign Shiva was waiting for... That was the point her neatly cleared mind was no peacefully streaming river anymore. The waves the melody has created started slow but steady, and the more lyrics she sang, the stronger they where - They never spilt over the shore, though. These waves were clearly under control, there was not a drop of threat in them. They did overtake her though, relatively fast as well, and she didn't even care that people were watching, relying on the success, trusting and worrying that she doesn't miss a note, spoke a wrong lyric, plainly does anything wrong. Not even the tiny raindrops that began to fall could stop her from this...state of trance? That seemed like the best way to describe it, yes.

It's clear that she has kept in mind the tips on movements Tandal and the Elder have given her. The natural grace in movement Shiva has was helpful on this, as it made all look rather natural. Not one movement looked forced.

She had no idea when Cottonee has released herself from her Pokeball, but if she had to guess, it must have been at the first mentioning of 'Cotton'. It seemed like the fluffball was following every movement of her Master, it felt like they where in almost perfect synchronicity although they never really trained to dance together. At the second mentioning of 'Cotton', Cottonee also started to enhance their performance by casting a Fairy Wind, making it look like Master and Pokemon were performing on the breeze of it. If this was a Pokemon Showcase, the audience would probably have been left stunned.

As soon as Shiva has sang her last line, she followed the same open-arms sweeping-gesture she already did yesterday, eyes closed and faintly catching her breath. Kyuu was still on her right shoulder, purring to her, this was the only sound to her when the music began to fade away. Cottonee floated onto her Master's left shoulder making a backflip as her final step.

Shiva will remain like this until something happens or she'll get any sensation. She was...just waiting, welcoming the Incarnate or any hints of her in awe.

(1 Willpoint is spend on this Encounter Slot, but not necessarily on the ritual-performace!)

RE: [Game thread] Skull Ruins Pokerole - Iron - 12-16-2017

Shamisen: (5)(5)(5)(5)(6)(2) Ventus crits the Shamisen. It suddenly feels like the instrument is playing HIM, though he only learned yesterday! He can feel a literal connection between the ancient Shamisen and Lilith's call.

Thumb harp: (6)(5)(4)(6)(3)(2) Heart does a phenomenal job on the thumb harp. Since each key is one note, he can pick up the skill quite quickly, backing up the simple arpeggios at the core of the Skirl. The moment he joins in, everyone feels a little more peaceful.

Lucky Chant: (4)(4)(3)(2)(2)(4)(3) As Kirlia wraps up his Lucky Chant, the clouds part in a sudden blast of wind! The rain ceases and the sun peeks through. The divide in the cloud is a stark rift. It's not gradual in the least. The wind that accompanies it is not
as chilly as yesterday's breeze - in fact, it's rather warm and comforting, like sheets fresh out of the dryer.

Flute: (2)(1)(1)(1)(1)(2)(3)(1)(5) The rain has wetted the wings attached to the relic flute, and the Elder almost despairs as his notes ring untrue for the first time in his life. The sudden breeze, carrying a few leaves, passes a little jetstream directly over the wings, somehow drying them instantly. Nathan sees Kirlia wink at the Elder. As the Elder recovers and enters the second verse without error, the group hears a faint repeating jingling call, almost like bells...high up in the sky.

Shiva's Singing: (1)(1)(6)(4)(3)(5)(6)(1)(4) Thanks to Lucky Chant, that is also a critical success. As Shiva throws her arms back, they happen to brush against the shoulders of her friends: the comforting tweed of Ventus, the warm fluff of Espurr (who is radiating raw psychic power), and an even warmer Pokemon. Oh, it's Orthros. No time for that now: caught up in the sweep of her song, Shiva's being feels filled to the brim with warmth and happiness. She can feel the vibrations of trust in each of her friends and their Pokemon.

Then you see it! One of the clouds, coming lower and lower, is not a cloud at all! It is a graceful blue bird, long and elegant, with a yard-long tail like a streaming banner. The Pokemon is wreathed in cotton, especially in a huge fluffy mass behind her. Her wings, too, are like cumulus clouds affixed to serpentine beauty. From sharp talons and hooked beak, and long plumed crests, this Pokemon looks at once Draconic and primally aerodynamic.

Lilith gives another cry, of recognition. The South Wind Incarnate has come.

Primal Altaria swoops to the Eternal Bonfire and lands within the flames, unbothered by the fire. The effects of the weather disappear, a powerful wind sweeping aside the last cold, cloud, and rain. The sunlight is chilled, but it still gleams on the shiny blue skin of the ancient form of Altaria. The wind builds and builds, and the Elder takes a step back in awe. As he realizes what is happening, he retreats a little faster behind shelter, but you can still see his bald head peeking out with wide eyes.

From the heart of the bonfire, you hear a pleasant humming, just like the hum that begins each day in the village.

RE: [Game thread] Skull Ruins Pokerole - Spiritmon - 12-16-2017

Heart was too much amaze from the beautiful come from "South Wind". Never in his head would be the pokemon a Primal Altaria. "This...this...this is beautiful..." If someone would notice tears was rolling in Heart eyes, still emotional and amazed by the aparition of the Primal Pokemon.

RE: [Game thread] Skull Ruins Pokerole - PhantomUnderYourDesk - 12-16-2017

That sensation of warmth and happiness was exactly a sensation Shiva has waited for, this was her figurative wake-up call.

She didn't flinch back as that 'cloud' came closer, she was observing it, keeping her gaze fixated on it. Very soon, a smile formed on her expression, practically dripping with delight, a feeling of pride, and subtle happiness, all adding to a pleasant warmth and awe that was streaming through her bloodstream. Since when was she capable of feeling like THIS? This was...whoahw. She'll remember such a feeling.

Very very, slowly, Shiva bowed low once again, this time directly to the Incarnate. Kyuu and Cottonee had to take a little effort to stay on their Master's shoulders. When she rose again, she still had that smile, and slowly and carefully she extended one hand to Incarnate, as if she wanted to touch her. She didn't though, and instead kept her hand near in a gesture that seemed to say 'I'm lost. You came to my rescue. Please, take me with you.'

This wasn't over yet though. When Shiva spoke up, her voice was also low and filled with awe and thankfulness. "Incarnate of Southern Wind... I thank thee deeply for hearing us all. I am blessed to get to see you. Please, hear my plea, as there's is barely a thing my heart wishes for instead: Do take us with you. Fly us to the Ends of the Earth. Save Stair City with us. Guide me, I'll follow. I am aware that your flight is one without return, and yet I am more than ready to be taken away."
