Because given she's a clumsy Ralts that probably doesn't have much in the way of defensive measures, I believe the demon would want to assist and help them out until they could properly look after themselves, and what better way to do that than by cart them around like a princess?

Maybe not indefinitely, but a Ralts definitely isn't very heavy and is also smaller than even a young Devimp, so carrying Karen would certainly be possible for Pyra.

Alright, now I have a second question, for both you and @PhantomUnderYourDesk : Is there enough room in Kee's Bag to fit Pyra's Big Nugget, along with Kee's other unspecified Items? Because if I can help speed things along by carrying around and protecting Karen intermittently (and because I believe and know  Pyra would simply want to do everything in her power to help everyone in the group), that's what I want to do!

I have a BIG...

...MASSIVE...

...GIGANTIC update for everyone!

It seems that Version 2.0 of the Pokerole core book has finally been released!  And sometime in the last week, too, given that the latest version was still 1.2.5 a week ago when I made the meta thread.  It seems to include the rest of the UBs and Gen 8, more specific rules for Legendaries and Plot Devices, rules for Mega Evolution and Dynamaxing, various trainer ranking systems and info on rivals, many reworked systems, and even brand new rules on Pokemon Contests (which they apparently decided to turn into a board game of all things)!

I'm looking through the 2.0 corebook as we speak, reading all the new information.  It looks like a massive reworking of the system overall.  And because it's such a massive overall, I'm not sure it'd be suitable to refer to the new rules.  But I'm reading through it to see what's there regardless.

Well, I reading the new book and some changes is interesting. This thing about Nature is pretty interesting, but not a good thing to test out in the new campaigh already happening.

....Call me a ludite in this instance, but I rather we stick with 1.25 version of Pokerole and versions prior to that and not include any new changes in this campaign, if 2.0 is such a radical shake up of the established formula. I'm a firm believer of not only the K.I.S.S. idealogy, but not making huge sweeping revisions to a game all at once unless it happens prior to a Game's start and everyone is warned well in advance about any changes to be made/considered. Maybe we can test out the rules and new additions in another campaign later, or introduce them bit by bit as the story goes along, but not soon or all at once.

That's my take of things, at least. Feel free to act in what you think is the best interests for your campaign and us as your players, mate.

RE: [Meta Thread] Pokerole Mystery Dungeon: Primal Shadows - Spiritmon - 04-07-2020

I have to agree with Windos in this case. Lets stick with the rules we have right now, then in another campaigh we can test the new set of rules.

RE: [Meta Thread] Pokerole Mystery Dungeon: Primal Shadows - Dragonstrike - 04-07-2020

I find myself in agreement.  I might use 2.0 to reference information that wasn't in 1.2.5 at all (such as Atrribute bases and limits for certain pokemon, or the statistics for some moves), but after all the prep work we've done, it'll be easier to stick to 1.2.5 as a whole.  That, and the MD Module is written with versions prior to 2.0 in mind.

Ironically, I think the whole idea behind 2.0 is to simplify things and keep it simpler for everyone, both player and GM.  Fewer stats, less things the GM has to weigh in on, way fewer mentions of Plot Devices...it might very well be fun to try using the new system in a future game.

Now if you'll excuse me, I need to get No One the 1.2.5 version of the book as well since Pokerole doesn't seem to like to archive its old downloads on the (now completely redesigned) website.

Hmm Trainer Ranking. To make a resume is basically the ability of Tame a Pokemon and make it possible to get access to any move of its Rank. And you increase your Rank based in achievments you do like win badges, get a complete party, etc etc.

Starter. Beginner. Amateur. Ace. Pro. Master. Champion.

There is even a Legendary Ranking who is optional. Seems someone has been reading GM'ing Roleplays with Earthpower @Iron and your Choosen one by Legendaries @Lord Windos in Celadon City.

Almost the same, but you need to be choose by a Legendary Pokemon to reach Legendary Status.

Hero. Guardian. Demigod. God. Firstborn. Original One.

What I didnt like is how they treat Mega Evolution and Z-Moves. To Mega Evolve you need to use 1 Will Point. While Z-Moves can be only used once per day and cost 5 Will Points from Trainer and Pokemon. In other words, it cost 10 Will Points. I prefer stick in use regular moves thanks very much.

Although Z-Moves use Physical/Special+Base Move Power+Happiness+Loyalty.

Can you confirm all these information will be used in your campaigh @Dragonstrike?

RE: [Meta Thread] Pokerole Mystery Dungeon: Primal Shadows - Dragonstrike - 04-07-2020

After reading the 2.0 rules, I don't plan on using many of them, if any at all.  It's almost a different game mechanically.

I'm fairly certain our games didn't have a massive effect on the development of 2.0, tbh.  Sure, there are similar ideas, but we're just a small part of the community.  Plus, after looking into it a little more, it seems the update I've just seen is actually just a more recent version of 2.0, and the initial release of the 2.0 corebook has been out for...one and a half years, I think?  It was apparently released right before Let's Go Pikachu and Eevee came out.

I should also note that it seems the Pokerole team is starting up the process of reworking the PMD Module to bring it up to the standards of Pokerole 2.0.  But again, due to how different 2.0 is mechanically, I don't think we're going to end up using much material for it for this specific game.  The removal of Levels and Experience fundamentally changes how the game plays no matter how you look at it.

RE: [Meta Thread] Pokerole Mystery Dungeon: Primal Shadows - Lord Windos - 04-07-2020

*Whew* ....That's a relief. I personally haven't read 2.0 just yet, but if it's THAT much of a radical departure from the game we're used from what little you've revealed, I personally want to stick with 1.25 and previous editions of the game. Stick with what you know how to do best, or how to do well enough, is what I thinks is best. Maybe if we keep RPing with Pokerole to the point we get bored of 1.25 / 1.20 / 1.00 we can make games around future versions or just keep making changes until we have enough for a homebrew Corebook, but I think given the nature of play by posting and how well we've fined tuned the Experience/Reward systems for our respective campaigns to that format.....it'll probably take quite a bit of work to re-work stuff to the point it doesn't feel janky as heck to play for us 2.0.

I dunno, maybe I'll read the new rulebook later and see if I can't make a hypothetical campaign around it and see if its any good for forum play or not, or if it'll work for me. Diving into new stuff is always a trepidatious experience for me, but hey, we all have to get our feet wet with change at some times, right?
