RE: [Meta Thread] Pokerole Mystery Dungeon: Primal Shadows - PhantomUnderYourDesk - 11-29-2020 (11-28-2020, 07:03 PM)no one Wrote: @Phantom my exams are almost done, so Dax can lead the group now. Unless you'd like Kee to take the reins anyway? I'm fine either way. Nah, Dax can lead the way then now that you'll be done and free soon again. It wasn't my intention to lead the way through the Training Maze to begin with but more a way to keep progress going while you're busy with the exams, I much rather would like to lead through a real Myster Dungeon later on. RE: [Meta Thread] Pokerole Mystery Dungeon: Primal Shadows - no one - 12-03-2020 Oh uh, @PhantomUnderYourDesk. I know that Mantyke might have Water Absorb. I went with Bubble anyway because Daxter's never come across that mon before, so he literally has no idea what it has. Stupid move in general, but I got 0 successes in the Lore check I did with Dragon xD. Gotta stay true to the character right? RE: [Meta Thread] Pokerole Mystery Dungeon: Primal Shadows - PhantomUnderYourDesk - 12-05-2020 Nah, that's fine, no worries! I've done conditional orders in that case. RE: [Meta Thread] Pokerole Mystery Dungeon: Primal Shadows - Lord Windos - 12-05-2020 (12-03-2020, 05:55 PM)no one Wrote: (...) Ultimately you decide whether it's important to lean more towards IC or Metathink when it comes to playing the game, mate. Personally I have no problem with occasional foolishness so long as it doesn't jeapordize anyone else, so if you want Dax to potentially make a dumb move go nuts. RE: [Meta Thread] Pokerole Mystery Dungeon: Primal Shadows - Lord Windos - 12-09-2020 Quote:Quote Dragonstrike: (I've been thinking about how to enforce Luck Dice versus moves failing in this Play by Post system, and I'm thinking about bringing Luck Dice into play when they're either a) requested by the player if the move would have an accuracy pool of 0 or less b) whenever the dice pool would become negative. If the dice pool is exactly 0, there's no consequences. What do you guys think about that rule?) Believe it or not I'm perfectly fine with this addition. Always liked the idea of Critical Fails in tabletop games, and your 2nd method of using LD sounds perfectly in line with the concept, so I have no complaints about it! Also like it because it gives more weight to Multi-Actions, as before they was no reason not to always commit to the maximum you can do, but now you have to think carefully about doing so unless you want to run afoul of Pain gumming up your Rolls. Or always have an Oran on hand to heal you in a pinch, but that way begets sacrificing your Held Item slot for, so it ain't as neat of a fix in of itself. That, and Luck Dice could potentially still work out in your favor, which would make for some great RP moments if/when that occurs! On this topic, though, I do have an important question: What about Snake Eyes? Would they count as minuses to Dice Rolls, and therefore potentially 'earn' someone a Critical Miss? If so, that means Confusion and Curse-like Effects have gotten quite a nasty boost, and that Snake Eyes are even more of a problem than ever. RE: [Meta Thread] Pokerole Mystery Dungeon: Primal Shadows - Dragonstrike - 12-09-2020 (12-09-2020, 08:54 PM)Lord Windos Wrote: On this topic, though, I do have an important question: What about Snake Eyes? Nah, I'm only really looking at Luck Dice for negative dice pools. Snake eyes are a part of the roll itself, not the creation of the roll. Don't want to punish ya suuuuper badly for just getting unlucky. This isn't that kind of game. RE: [Meta Thread] Pokerole Mystery Dungeon: Primal Shadows - Spiritmon - 12-13-2020 Err Dragonstrike? Since both Torracat and Kogeki can only use one move for this right now, could we move on already to see who will win this fight like right now? I think this fight prolong more time then necessary tbh. RE: [Meta Thread] Pokerole Mystery Dungeon: Primal Shadows - Spiritmon - 12-19-2020 Sigh Defeated. Again. I know we cant always wins ALL battles, but damn, loosing 2 battles on a roll its not very much motivating... not that I saying Daxter is weak or something. But loosing on a 2x1 battle its not motivating. Specially when I was that close to defeat Torracat and only get...1 xp. Sigh. Well, lets go to the next battle then...wonder how I will be beaten this time again...Maybe this time I will beaten by a Magikarp Splash or maybe Sleep from a Jigglypuff hypnosis... Once the initial frustrations passes, it'd be worth thinking about why you lost and look into possible solutions. For example investing XP into a decent STAB-move instead of increasing Stats. Even if the thing you are doing is just talking with someone or do a single action. And you wait that long time just to see you lost. I sorry, but I can't help but feel frustrated about all of this. |
