Championship Challenger Change

Just to freshen up the championship it would be nice if the final challenger was random from a decent pool of trainers to make each finals unique, like sun and moon. Instead of Theo, maybe you get fight Maria with her prime team instead of her gym team, she was the previous champion before you, or even a new trainer that will be part of the further update to add in postgame to drum up more hype and mystery.

It would be a nice change of pace, but I wonder if that would mesh well with the narrative. Theo is clearly intended to be refought again after you complete the game, so if the devs where going to implement your decision, they would have to change that in some way. Not sure if they would be willing to, given how important the little spitfire is to the over arching plot.

I mean after the second match, I know about the second rematch where you get to fight him and its all set up. This would be for the third, fourth, fifth, etc. time you challenge the tournament. You could also fight him during your third time its just that is randomized on whether you do or not he would also be in the pool of random challengers.

In that case, I think randomized final champions would be a splendid idea! It would certainly make repeating the League Champeon Ship that much more interesting! Of course, we'll have to wait until the devs finish adding all the content in the game first before any sweeping changes are made to existing structures.
