[Meta thread] Lord Windos' PokeRole Adventure : Celadon City Vandels
Despite the good old saying 'Words will never hurt me,' people can and WILL take notice of what you say to them, and can/will react in a variety of ways, ranging from alright to downright disasterous. Cracking jokes at a Legendary who's patience was already long since exhausted by today's and yesterday's events was just a recipie for slap stick humor! As Reiner said : "Learn to Social!"

Arial is currently being attended by a beautiful Nurse Joy in the lobby right now, though, so its not all bad for him! Just be more carefull, alright dude?

No problem. Enough about be almost got killed. Arial almost die five times and almost go to the jail: The merchant, The xenoqueen, Kyubi, Romeo and Juliet, Ecru, and now with Mew. Think a guy who like suffer a lot. At least he taking care with a beautiful woman, so thats not so bad....

No, no he is not. Petrel was too busy trying not to burst out laughing at how much trouble Arial is bringing upon himself to answer him, and is currently waiting in the lobby for you to return, so that they can get started with business.

Alright, I want to make a announcement regarding a new rule implementation, and it its thus: You can now conditionally use Will Points in regards to making an attack Always Accurate if it misses, but WON'T SPEND THE POINT if it would hit without its aid. In exchange, your Pokémon can't set up an alternative course of actions, and has to directly follow the sequence of commands you gave it, no matter what.

I'm adding this rule in because, to me, blindly spending a Will Point and hope that it actually of good use is just poor design, as it incentivizes either running your Dice Pools as low as possible so that even worse dice luck can't plague the Extra success, or a Leap of Faith mentality that might no be necessary needed in the situation. Will Points are valuable beyond keen for just about everyone in the game, and I really don't want them being used to negative/unneeded effect. Of course, your Pokémon is going to be so focused on deciding to really give it their all forces them to stick to their guns with their attack sequence, but that is the price you pay of Condition Will Point expenditure!

Fair enough, I suppose, though it does kinda make the ignoring pain penalties effect mostly worthless to players with our ruleset (only making a significant difference if the accuracy loss would prevent you from using the move at all)

That said, I think this could make for some interesting effects on how attacks hit their targets.  For example, let's look at Lance.  In some of his appearances, it's actually been shown that his Dragonite can curve its Hyper Beams to hit the opponent unexpectedly.  This implementation of Will spending would allow plenty of situations to be described in similar ways and make sense mechanically as well.

That is assuming, of course, that you don't roll enough 1s to cancel out the guaranteed success from the will point. :/
