Not again...its the price of me to pay in play in two Roleplays. I sometimes mix the names of one campaigh to other. I just hope Mew dont Mega Punch my face again...I still recover from last time. Good thing the apathy make her less annoyed to my mixes.

Since we are here to discuss the situation of Gyarados, I would like to ask something to you guys: Is there any theory or explanation about why the hell Gamefreak make Gyarados Mega Evolution be Water/Dark? I mean, I consider the Mega Evolution pretty cool and all but...in his egg Group Gyarados its a dragon. And Gyarados more powerfull No-STAB moves is the Dragon-type: Dragon Dance, Outrage, Dragon Tail, Dragon Breath. Sure he have Bite and Crunch, but he would have more powerfull with a more Draconic Mega Evolution. Maybe, I dont know...Mega Gyarados X and Y? Or maybe Mega Gyarados Omega and Mega Gyarados Alpha for Omega Ruby and Alpha Saphire.

Of course, I not hating the Mega Evolution. I think its pretty cool. What you guys think?

Not too sure why either, other than the fact that they didn't want a Water/Dragon type that was really strong, or they though they had too many good Dragon Megas, and made them different to break that trend. Honestly, I'm confused about that decision too, mate...Mega Gyarados would be PERFECT as a Dragon type....

Maybe because Gyarados is so purely brutal in nature that a Water/Dragon typing wouldn't really do it justice? That's one of my better guesses, I think.

Perfect indeed. In his base form, Gyarados only have two type weakness: Rock Moves and Eletric Moves (that last one would is 4x), five resistances against Fire, Water, Fighting, Bug and Steel, and finally one immunity, the Ground Moves. In his Mega Evolution he become imune to pyschic, but he Five weakness: Eletric, Grass, Fighting, Bug and Fairy. A Dragon fear of bugs...and one of the strongerst. 

If he was a Mega Evolution with Dragon-type, he would have only 2 Weakness: Fairy and Dragons. He would lost many of his resistances but that would be only a little price to get. Resistance against Fire, Water and Steel. 

Perhaps your theory is right Dragonstrike, but I still think Gyarados have a Mega Evolution with Dragon-typing would be a right path to go. I dont know, maybe he find some way to focus his energy in a more control way and be in piece with his draconic nature and finally reach some sort of Mega Evolution who becomes similar to his original form in the pre-historic times. Almost like Aerodactyl Mega Evolution where the description says he kinda returns to his original form when Mega Evolves. That would be awesome! A true Dragon Sea King!

But Gamefreak will never do that...in the day they make a Pokemon Game where there is a Mega Gyarados with Dragon type, if my money is cool I gonna buy for sure. For now...we can only dream...
