Yeah, all its other playstyles are definitely still valid.  You have bulky, Rock Polish sweeper, wall breaker...yeah, seriously.  I hadn't really looked at it in awhile, so that 110 Sp. Atk it has was a bit of a shocking refresher.  For some reason, I didn't remember it being that strong.

And now it has another way to boost, and just enough speed to be able to take full advantage of it against even some of Uranium's fastest 'mons, unlike poor Cocancer.

Problem with bulky is that while Carty's HP stat is robust enough, its defenses are plain mediocre if we discount its excellent Typing. Add in the fact it doesn't really have any super defensive Abilities (Shell Armor doesn't really count, unless you pair it with a Defense boosting move, and Sand Veil isn't that stellar unless you pair it up with Double Team and/or Lax Incense) but one really good versitle one (Sand Stream), and its sorta pigeon holed into more of a Support Pokémon. Still, with the inclusion of that Move, it at least opens up the possibility of alternative playstyles.

I'll just be quiet for now because the discussion concerning Uranium's takedown has taken an unpleasant tone for me wears me out a little too much. I don't know why, maybe it revives the old memories about that case that I rather want to see burried.

Okay, so...some family trouble came up, and I need to devote a good amount of attention to it, so I'm not sure exactly how much longer we'll be on hiatus for, unfortunately. Again, sorry for stalling things.

I'll still be able to regularly participate in Skull Ruins, and maybe eventually get enough of a creative spark to unstall things here soon, but when your youngest sister comes to ask you for advice on some rather...serious matters that are highly concerning, ya gotta take time out from somewhere to try and help her deal with them appropriately. (I'm not at liberty to say exactly what's going on, but I can say it's very, very important)

Ick. Family troubles are always the thorniest and most wearisome to handle, and I say that from ample experience. Take all the time in the world to sort it all out, mate. My game is not going anywhere, and its nowhere near as important as whatever your sister is enduring.

Thank you both for the well wishes/encouragement.  I'm hoping this can be resolved well enough in a reasonable amount of time.  It's been bugging me all day :/

And yes, if need be, outside/professional help is certainly out there and available.  One of the first things I told/reminded my sister about.

You know, I remember something now: Didn't Clare has a Mega Gyarados in her command? If I recall her Gyarados still hold that Mega Stone. If we could let Gyarados be controlled and Arial indeed tame him, maybe Reiner could fetch the Mega Stone? Unless you want to keep for some reason @Dragonstrike?

No.  She had a Mega Charizard X and a Mega Aerodactyl.  Gyarados was holding a Nullity (which was consumed during the battle)

The especially nasty thing about Gyarados is that it has +2 Str and Dex Surprises (but only 11 base HP to compensate) combined with Intimidate. It doesn't really need to mega evolve, tbh.

But according to the Pokedex, Gyarados have a Base HP of 21. Could you confirm the information if N-Gyarados have 11 or 21 of Base HP @Lord Windos
