Good news, everyone: I got the internet to work at my vacay stay again! Hooray!

Bad news: I think I have to quit Dragonstrike's campaign at this point. ....

The reason for that is simple: after Dragonstrike's/Rowan's latest round of threats/rationalizations, my character would be so beside himself in anger and disgusted what they had to say that he literally would just quit right there on the spot no matter how I went about handling their reaction, and pointidly say that he didn't want to break the pixies promises, but that HE ultimately forced him to by acting like a complete paranoid and rude ass git.

Best I could do to keep him in the game is for him to either delay answering Rowan for the rest of the day somehow, then have him hurry through his prior activities before he got sequestered by them and immediately head out to Mt. Coronet, or have him outright storm out on the good professor and stop only at the Pokemart long enough to get supplies/a warm tent before he goes full vigilante and tries to solve the case on his own.

Honestly, that's the best I got. I had a whole plan flight and night to think about it, so my thoughts on the matter couldn't be more fleshed out.

Mate, if it's THAT big a deal, I can either spoil what Rowan will do upon learning about the stuff (nothing THAT bad) so you don't have to worry about it, or change the outcome, because I don't want THIS to be a reason to quit a campaign.  That's just silly.

You appear to have a talent for creating characters and/or playing them in such way that they have to leave the Game pre-end, honey. That's quite funny, interesting and somewhat weird at the same time. There go any hope to have Ran and Kee linger at a bar together for some nice drinks, lolz!~ Too bad, the blacksmith's fun to argue with. Do you think we could still have that small scene that involves that Megastone for the Abomasnow? Kee'd just sell it otherwise to buy more supplies.

For some reason the spoiler button disappear. Second, are you sure you are going with that decision Windos? I mean, you are free to go if you want, but I am enjoying the interactions of our chars so it would be good if you a little more.

Huh? How would it be silly? I could understand it to be dramatic and/or not good, but not foolish in the manner your saying.

In regards to what you're offering.....spoiling stuff OOC won't change Ran's mind (obviously), but one thing that would more or less resolve things fairly well (relatively speaking) is if Rowan never have implied that his and Lucas' integrate was wanting or trying to manipulate him with the mystery itself. In other words, this part:

"...do you know why I asked you to come here, Randolph? I asked because Lucas personally recommended you as well as Karen. I do not wish to think his trust has been misplaced, as he is an excellent judge of character. And like it or not, I do not think whatever is going on is going to let those directly involved in its events leave its influence so easily, given the apparent nature of what's occurring." '

Is the catalyst for Ran becoming self mutalatingly angry and indignant at Rowan (and making him take all his prior responses as negative), and it either needs to be nixed or altered.

It's one character interaction, and it's heated completely due to IC reasons.  You told a League official about League business.  Big woop.  Not that bad.  It shouldn't make or break the campaign as a whole.

*sigh*

I've been having a rough day, tbh.  Getting put through the wringer both at work and here on the forums.  I'll delete that section of the post.  And do my best to cool off and relax in a timely manner.  Just super duper stressed right now.

Uh.....I'm honestly not that angry or upset by it IRL, mate. I find his response to be perfectly fair and good, and it's rather interesting to see him express more than reserved demeanor. It's Ran that is the one that is/would take severe issue with Rowan, not me. I'm just being faithful to his character, and while that sounds inadequete, it's the honest truth.

If things are getting rough for you, I can delay posting until you feel ready for it, mate. Wouldn't want add anymore stress onto you than I already have.

If it gets to a point where the character is seriously considering leaving the game entirely, I think I'd need to reevaluate how I'm playing the character if it were me.  I had to do that with Nathan a long, long time ago, to be frank.  I feel a player character leaving kinda defeats the purpose of their participation in a tabletop RPG unless there's some good OOC justification (or a REALLY good story reason IC) for it.

The trick is finding a balance between accurately portraying your character's personality and doing so in such a way that you can still have fun with the character that you want to play.  It's a tricky balancing act.  To be honest, I think you weigh too heavily on the 'character' side of the balance sometimes, Windos.  It's nice and all that you're taking the extra effort to stay IC, but make sure you're still able to have fun with the character you want to play, yeah?  Far as I can tell, you've been having a lot of fun with Randolph so far, so please don't let one bad moment drag the whole ship down to the bottom of the ocean without any kind of warning.  That's just my opinion based on what I've observed, though.

Go ahead and post whenever you're ready, Windos.  Don't let my own woes stop you from posting.  If I don't feel up to responding right away, I'll let you guys know.

Also: Apologies for the recent delays, everyone.  I'll get back to it soon since the majority of that debacle with the Sword is over now and the forums are (sort of) back to normal.

Gonna be a little bit busier than usual today, auto my character if needed.
(Not at liberty to say why, yet.)
Okay, what was keeping me busy is done for now, hopefully things will go good with it. Will let y'all know once it's gone through.
