[Game Thread] Lord Windos’ PokeRole Adventure 2: The Wild Lands
#21
*Welp, better get going. It wouldn't be wise to go against her wishes immediately. He looks around the area, checking for the shortest part of the fence?/wall? and walking towards it, taking Kayla's pokeball into his hand.*

"Come out girl, looks like I needed ya a bit earlier then expected."

*Surely climbing over would be a breeze with the tallest horse he knows as makeshift stairs. And even if it's not he had another idea.*

Seddi raises an eyebrow.  Fastest and slickest, huh?  Best keep an eye on his pokeballs and pack, just in case...

For now though, the fellow seems nice enough, so Seddi will shake the groovy stranger's hand. The cowboy's gloved grip is firm.

"Name's Seddi.  So we're near Bayahama?  That's where I need to be goin', so that works out I suppose.  Let's walk and talk if you don't mind.  No sense hanging around here if it's dangerous, and I've got someone I need to be meetin' back up with.  Could use some directions."

On that note, Seddi pulls out his Rotom Phone, checking if there's any recent messages from the Professor.  If she'd been trying to call him, he hadn't noticed yet, but he has no doubt that she'd be trying to contact him and figure out what the heck just happened.  Thankfully, his phone hadn't been fried by supernatural phenomena this time, so getting back in touch with her shouldn't be the most difficult thing in the world.  Once he's confirmed he's in a safe enough location to make a call uninterrupted, that is.

Seddi's also making sure to pay attention to that...feeling the gemstone is giving off. If it's trying to guide him, then it'd likely be a good idea to pay attention to if he happens to be going in the direction it wants him to. Whether he actually wants to follow it now or not is another matter, but getting back to the city comes first.

In the meantime, while they're making their way back to the city...

"So what makes that beach so dangerous if the Sutalöran 'jellies' aren't the primary problem?  Can't say it looks like a very interesting beach at a glance."

After putting it in his bag, he makes his way to a service desk to make sense of what is going on. He then makes his way in the direction that the gem is leading him, letting Glomena out of his Net Ball to get some fresh air. The Whirlipede sparkles as he takes in his surroundings.

*Looks at stuff* ....Yup, yup, yup, everything is in order! Phew, now you don't have to worry about your Mentor chewing you out for losing your gear or Mons!

The Service Desk and it's attendant helpfully inform you that you're in The Second Sutalor Docking Terminal, a bit startled by your 'sudden' appearance but more than happy to help out. She gives you a brochure that helpfully contains a map of the City and all you can do in it [Wait a bit before asking anything about this - best to let everyone get together before I let you all loose on the world!] , and points to where you can exit this place.

Before you can manage that a loud *Brrrrrriiiing!* echoes from your pocket! Your phone! Pulling it out, you see on the screen that it's your Mentor Calling you! Quickly, you pick up, and wince and lean away as you get hollored at!

"Boy, where in tarnation are you?! Took my eyes off you for one second, and you plum disappeared! I know we just got to Sutalor and you're excited to begin our Safari, but patience grasshopper! Now where the heck are you?"

As you let out Gomena to stretch a bit a bit of the throng of Tourists stop to gander at such a magnificent Whirlipede....

"Oiy! You! Want to have a row? That Bug of yours looks tough - bet it'd put up a nice fight, yeah!"

...and you are soon challenged by what appears to be a young but tough looking  tan sailor, one Ball already in their hand as the bounced it up and down, awaiting your response.

Well, looks like you have something to do while your Mentor gets back to ya!

Darren smirks and accepts the challenge; "You're on!"

Kayla gives you a half-lidded look before moseying over to the wall, where you quickly hop up and make your way over and the recall them. Easy, right?

*Rolls* Oooh...!

Turning back, you find that the wall is suddenly *gone* , a thick mass of woody vines, trees, and brush obscuring where you once came from. Directly in front of you is a path, leading deeper and deeper into this hidden beauty...

Of to the side, you see a Old Fountain, an Statue of a Dratini coiled up in it. Clean, crisp water is in the basin - just enough to fill a Bottle of Fresh Water for the road ahead.

Dodger takes one look at you and bursts out in laughter, slapping himself on the knee!

"Bwahahaha! Not that kind of slick, partner! I just know how to Hustle and bustle the most, and make 'bout any situation my jam, ya dig?"

The dandy man ethusiastically shakes yours in turn, his grip every bit as formidable as your own.

"Nice to me ya! Yeah, we are, 'bout a couple hours out from the city limits. *Smirks* If you stick with me, though, I can get ya back their quickier than a Dodrio after its next meal! *Shrugs, crosses hands behind his head* Still, I don't mind getting to know ya first - not everyday I see somebody pop out of the middle of nowhere, and a real roughie and toughie at that, he!"

You two pair up, walk side by side as you make your away from the beach and deeping into the Region itself. Dodger doesn't interupt you as you poke around your R.P. , only giving it a quick glance before noding and looking away, whistle a catchy tune all the while. Checking the messages....yup, you got some - One from the Professor tht basically said 'Where are you? What happened? Report in immediately' , and one from the Sutalorian Embassy, stating that they fully processed his visa and is ready to hand over all documents and items necessary for him to conduct his research in an official capacity. Your Mentor didn't send anything yet - maybe the Professor hadn't raised the alarms yet?

Once you were done with that and started some small talk, Dodger looked back and raised an eyebrow at you, before chuckling.

"He, yup, you're a Rissy alright. That's slang for 'Tourist' by the way - don't let it get under ya skin, most Sutalorians just like to rib ya lot a little. Anyway, why is this beach dangerous? Cause while the Jellies no longer call this place home, and looks rather plain at first glance, that don't mean the beach misses out on the goings of other menaces. Not too uncommon to spot a Wandering Hurricane 'round here - some think they claimed this area as a part of its territory, FYI - Sharpedo and Tubareel infest these waters and aren't afraid to chase after people on dry land, Giant Trapinch hidden pits and sneaky blood sucking Sand Crawlers lurking all about the place...and much more feisty beasties. Reason why Bayhama never bother to settle anything all the way out here, partner. Honesty, you're pretty lucky nothing decide to Pounce on ya and start chewing away like you're a Rage Candy Bar - or the locals didn't catch wind of ya 'fore I did. Lucky either way, eh?"

"Wa ha ha! Nice to see a Rissy with some spine! 1v1 , 2 Pokemon Each, No Healing Items! Let's do this!"

He sends out a Poliwrath, who bangs both fists together with a relish at seeing such a impressive Bug. Time to see if his punches can muscle past those Resistances!

Glommena looks ready to rumble as well, though you can opt to return her and instead send out someone else in their place.

Intiative:
Poliwrath: DEX (3) + 4 Survival + 1 Alert + (2) = 10
Glommena/Other: DEX (3) + 2 Survival + 2 Alert + (3) = 10, Tie goes to Glommena/Other

Big Welcome to Sutalor Battle Round 1!

Seddi shrugs at the laughter.  "You'll have to pardon my skepticism.  Old habits and all."

Seeing that the Professor sent a text inquiring about his whereabouts, Seddi won't hesitate to respond with a text of his own.  Looks like he'll be escaping getting his ear talked off this time.

Was teleported to a beach outside the city.  Met a local who's escorting me back.  Will meet you at the embassy building.

Now then, back to business.  Seddi pulls out a notebook and starts writing things down while he's chatting with Dodger.

"Rissy, huh?  I'll have to remember that.  Though as you've probably guessed by now, I'm not exactly an average tourist."

Seddi will hold up his right hand, showing Dodger the symbol on the back of the black glove.  "Need to be headed to Bayahama, but more specifically, the embassy there.  Got some papers to pick up 'cuz I'm on a bit of a research mission.  Course, the beasties around here aren't going to make research of any kind easy if I run into them.  Since we seem to have a bit of time on our way back, anything you can tell me about the more unusual dangerous critters around here?  Not gonna go lookin' for trouble of course, but forewarned is forearmed.  Always good to have information on types, descriptions, move preferences, and the like."

Also of course, he can't spend too long chatting either.  He needs to gettin' to the embassy to meet up with the Professor.  And if he was conveniently dropped off near the city, maybe the other six individuals he saw are in the area too.

1 Unit of Fresh Water gotten! Heal 4 HP, but only outside of Battle! Can also be used in some recipes to increase their quality!

Upon closer look at the Statue, you find that it's actually not attached to the basin at all and it was emitting a steady stream of water.

*Rolls*

From what you can deduce and based on experience, this Dratini Statue is in fact an Artifact of sorts that generates Fresh Water! How convenient! Question is, do you want to take it?

Nalu wriggles with joy at the task and gives you a happy smile, signify its willingness to act as watchout. It'll do a good job defending you, you can bet its barbs on that!

Berry Planted! It'll be ready by Tomorrow 1st Encounter, ideally!

You meander down the trail with your partner firmly on hand, both of you keeping a Keen Eye out for any mischievous or dangerous critters lurking in the dense undergrowth. Aside from hearing some shuffling and spotting some shadows nothing bother you, however - seems like whatever lives here isn't bothering you for the moment. Perhaps they avoid the main path? It is remarkably clear of plants and tracks from other animals...

Eventually, you find yourself in a clearing, filled to the brim with wildflowers of all kinds, lavender and sage, towering sunflowers, and even some bushes of berries (no Battle kinds, sadly)! It creates a rather heady aroma that reminds you heavily of home - heck,, you manage to spot a few Combee, Cutiflies, and Comfey floating around, gathering pollen and nector, before they cotton onto your presence and quickly flee and hide. You could try to find one of them if you try hard enough, however - whether or not you succeed or find something else for your troubles is another matter entirely.

That was not what drew your attention the most, however. No, for in the center of the clearing was what appeared to be an roughly and ancient Stone Arch of some sort, Old Unown runes carved in the aged rock and the ground around and through it a clean dusty pink. Planted in the ground in front of the S.A. was a simple Stone Dias,  a circular indent carved in the middle.  FYI, you can attempt an Lore/Investigation Check on this, and I'll Roll out the results; alternatively, you can poke around and see if that does anything!

Looking around further, there appeared to be no way clear path out of this clearing at first glance. Maybe there was a way through the tangled brush and trees if you looked hard enough (Roll Required!), but you had a gut feeling that might be far more trouble than it's worth....

What to do, what to do.... This whole thing is reminder you way too much about the Old Ones private little Domains for your comfort, but maybe you can exploit that to your benefit...?
