[Game Thread] Lord Windos’ PokeRole Adventure 2: The Wild Lands
(03-13-2024, 01:05 PM)Dragonstrike Wrote: Seddi shakes his arm to readjust it after that extra firm handshake!  "No harm done.  Can't say I'm not tense either, even if I don't look it.  Got a lot on my plate trying to find my footing while the suits want me to hit the ground runnin'!"

Dodger's comments on his resumé get an eyebrow raise from Seddi.  "I hadn't heard that yet, actually.  Though knowing you've been eyeballing this issue, I can't say I'm surprised.  Should be good for instilling a bit more confidence in the rest of the folks who'll be joining us on the hunt.  I'll send you the details of where we're meeting for our planning session a little later."

Back to the friendly smile for spectating!  "Wouldn't dream of scarin' her off.  We'll be sure to stay quiet and outta sight.  Lookin' forward to seein' a little of what you and your partners can do."

Can Seddi add other pokemon to the Battle Analysis training, or is it just going to be the one?

"Bah, just ignore'em - they're the ones on their hands un knees begging ya to put your life on the line - 'least they can do is have some bloody patience!"

"Huh, well now you have! Pretty convenient of ol' Dodger, eh? Eh? *Nods* Thanks, and I'll be cooking up something from my experience in taking down a lil' sprite (WH) . Probably won't be the most detailed report, but hey, deets are deets, and the can helps beets and not have yas eats dirt!"

You can have + 1 Mon out before the number starts becoming noticable - the smaller the Mon (or one capable of hidding), the better!

Now onto Oz's Second Fight!

Easy choice for another 'mon!  Small (only 1 foot/0.3 meters tall!), generally Calm and serene, it'll be Seddi's Rabsca joining the two in spectating!  Studying battle patterns and tactics is exactly the kind of thing he's good at, but he's not quite as Insightful as Lady Ceruledge yet...one day though, he will be!

She's featherlight in your grasp, though you do feel the warmth and tingly sparks that saucey birdmouse inflicted upon her with their feminine wiles! She murmurs as you pet and comiserate with her, still conked out but at least getting the vibes you're sharing!

The Dandy Man simply nods, and jerks over to the rest of the club.

"Welp, I don't know about ya, but I'm going to get my groove! If ya need me, just holler! *Cheeky Smirk* Or stick with me if you want to tango with the Dandy Man yourself, heh!"

He then wanders off, rubbing shoulders with others and getting up to the antics you expect from a guy like him!

Pers mumbles again at your tone, though this one sounds embarrassed and bitter. You have a feeling that when she awakens that this was a moment she'd NEVER forget, for better and worse!

Since everything has wrapped up nice and neat, I'd say this -

*Flashback End!*

Rodger Dodger looks even hungrier for battle as you make your bold claims and announce your sisters, and when you summon your Hatterene Hecate his eyes widen a tad! Nyan, too, becomes intrigued, eyeing the forest witch with a gleaming discernment that it got you worried. Having a big ol' cat look at your sis like some sort of puzzle to take apart isn't exactly the best feeling in the world, you know!

"Hah! A coven of Witches, eh? Well, let's see if Nyan has what it takes to be a witch hunter general then!"

The berobbed feline straightens up - for now, simply watching but soon enough he'd demonstrate exactly why he's called a Superstar....

Quicksilver Speedster Fight Round 1!

The dramatic reveal that you possess a Key Stone doesn't have Dodger reeling - no, he looks absolutely psyche, gripping his hands together and letting out a "WOOOT!" as the fun was about to begin....!

"A Mega Hatterene? Now I've seen it it, ah hah! *Feisty Grin* Show me what mad mojo you got then, ladies!!"

Blinding, burning red-pink light blasts out of the transformation sphere, and with a BIG *T H U D* and the clacking of armor Hecate stepped forward and out onto the battlefield.

The former robe like hair-growths that once enshrouded her body were gone - in their place was a dress and armor combined. Chinese/Tohjo-esqe battle maiden's  grab covering her from the mid-drift down in the usual Hatterene color gradient, only this time trailing off at the ends into that same near blood-red pink. From the top was a fae pink and purple burnished mithril bodice armor, covering her chest and upper body but the mid-sections of her arms and hands, no longer just stubs and now three fingered and one thumbed. Speaking of her form itself, it was no longer petite and tiny - she was big now, her body becoming that of 2m tall humanoid that radiated an domineeringoppressive and deadly aura that boldly declared: where she stands, where she walks, where she goes, War and Wonder follow - behold .

Her face remained mostly unchanged, though the bumps on her head had changed to form a pink 'X' that prominently displayed on her forehead, while her pupils flickered intermittently between glowing white, grey, pink, and baby blue. Her species signature hat had undergo it's own Transformation - it had changed to be more akin to the bamboo hats that old ronin of Ancient Tohjo would wear, though it still had that iconic 'witch's hat' aesthetic . The long ropy hand-like appendage hanging off the tip was absent - instead it had migrated underneath the brim and behind her head and had split, becoming two hands instead! Last, but certainly not least, on her waist was four sheathes, four handles, and with blinding speed *SHING!* she was wielding four weapons - A Three Prong Sword seeping mist, A Spear with a wavy, ever changing tip, an Axe shaped like a cackling demon's head, and what appeared to be some sort of long, mystical hand-cannon of sorts (think Alucard's from Hellsing) .

Hecate, Mega Hatterene, Goddess of War and Wonder, was, and she was ready to destroy all that opposed her.

(If you want a reference to what she looks like, search 'Iris Swordsoul!')

Mega Boost Activated: + 1 to ALL Attributes, and gains an additional + 3 SPE! - + 3 to Fight, Channel, Brawl, and Clash! She also gains a Bonus to her  STR, DEX, VIT, and INS based on their Total Special Score / 6 (Min 1). With a Special of *11 + 2 (BFK), she gains a whopping + 2 STR, DEX, VIT, and INS!!! HP is now: 5 +*6 + *6 = 17!  She also counts as a Pseudo Tier Mon while Mega for purposes of taking/do doing Moves from/to Pseudos!

Her Psychic Type Moves deal Super Effective Damage to Dark Types and she Fully Resist them, while her Fairy Moves Deal Super Effective Damage to Poison Types and she fully Resists them. In exchange, she takes 2X Times more SE Damage from Steel and Ghost Types, and her Moves Psychic/Fairy Moves deal - 2 Damage to them.

Her Support Moves are More Effective - Experiment with them in Game to find out just by how much!

While Mega, she Knows the Move Misty Explosion, and can use it as a SPE + 10 Damaging AoE Move to Faint and immediately lay down Misty Terrain for the rest of an Encounter!

Despite the near-Intimidating figure your War Goddess was striking Nyan seemed unbothered - if anything he was only mildly more paying attention to her. A fact that pissed her off greatly as a dark palor fell over her, but she took a deep breath, trying to get in the right -

Calm Mind 1
(3)(6)(1)(5)(2) (2)(5)(1)(6)(1) (6)(4)(3)(1)(4) (2)(6)(3) [Mate, Calm Mind is her FIRST Action, not Second - it gets a - 2 Action Cost to it, not 4 (That is for her SECOND Action). It's not a big deal Calcs wise NOW, but this could have been a bigger screw up later on!]
Hecate's SPE and S.Defense increases by 1!

Your big crowven whips up a strong breeze to propel them to victory!

Tailwind 1
(5)(4)(3)(5)(3) (5)(3)(6)(2)(6) (3)(2)(4)
*Whoosh!* + 2 DEX for your Side of the Field....!

...Only not really, as Nyan gains + 2 DEX from it too due to ??? !!! What?!

Nyan lets out another *Yawn...* , then begins to do a couple of stretches, as if Limbering up for actually doing something but laze around.

Nyan Wastes his First Action.

The Wonderous Witch holds her spear upside down, a bead of irridescense form on its tip.

Life Dew 2
(2)(4)(5) (4)(2)(5) (4)(6)(3) (1)(1)
*Splash!* The drop falls down, coating the entire side of her battlefield in rejuvinating waters! At the end and beginning of the Round, restore 2 HP for Hecate and Fortuna! In addition, they Negate the first Point of Pain they endure, Chance Effects are reduced down to 1D6 against them, and their Healing Moves are More Effective!

Unfortunately for them Nyan 'shares' this buff too, gaining all the effects!!!

Fortuna doesn't waste time - she uses the wind she whipped up, sharpening it up with her Power to lay the smack down on this kitty!

Air Cutter 2!
(5) (1)(1) (1)(1) (1) (6)(2) (1) (1)(2) Fffffuck, a Miss like this ISN'T Negated by her Ability! Super Luck Activated...

Instead of attacking the cat, her Flying prowess is turned against her AND Hecate! Oh noes!
Damage: 6 + 2 + STAB + SB = 10D6 Base Damage
Fortuna has 4 INS, while Hecate has *7
(4)(4)(5)(1)(3)(4) Fortuna takes 3 Damage; 7/10 HP, - 1 Pain!
(5)(3)(1) Hecate takes 1 Damage; 16/17 HP

Nyan can't help it - he laughs outright at this screw up on their part, pointing and heckling Fortuna most mockingly, the very imagine of 'Ha - ha, you dun fucked up!'

TAUNT EX 2
*Rolls*
Fortuna is SUPER PISSED NOW!!! She is Tormented (Can't use the Same Moves as she did This Round in the Next!), Taunted (No Non Damaging Moves!), Aggroed onto Nyan, Her Ability is Negated, and she has Lost It! - She No Longer Will Listen to Your Orders and will Attack Relentlessly at a + 2 Action Cost, + 2 Damage Dice and + 1 Damage against Nyan with Recoil, Lethally if at all possible (Including Making her Moves Lethal/Extra Lethal)!!! UNLIMITED DURATION UNTIL RECALLED!

"*Sighs* Nyan, you really had to do that? Welp, you'll reap what you sow buddy."

Hecate is not amused by this, and demonstrates it by pointing her GUN at the foul cat and firing off a BIG Blast of energy!

PSYCHIC 3
SPE Moves use SPE as their Root Accuracy - you got this right with Air Cutter, but not here...?
26 Base Accuracy (Her Channel is 2, so she got *5 after the boosts, mate) - 6 Actions = 20D6 Dice!!!
(5)(6)(4)(5)(3) (4)(5)(3)(2)(5) (4)(1)(6)(2)(4) (1)(6)(3)(5)(3) BOOM, HEAD SHOT. SUPER CRIT!!!

Nyan's eyes flash.

(3)(6)(6)(2)(5)(3)(6)(6) + (2)(5) + (*6)(*6)

He blurs, tilting just far enough to Negate your Super Crit into a just a Regular Hit with Evading at All! What?!

As the Psychic hits, Nyan's fur takes on a Steely purple sheen!!! ??? Triggered - Type Changed to Steel/Psychic !!!
18D6 - *9INS - 2 HDA -   2 QE - 2 ME = 9D6 - 6 Damage
(3)(2)(4) (5)(5)(1) (3)(2)(1) Nyan shrugs off the blast like it was nothing!
(-) Negated due to ???

Your not-quite Berserk sister screams bloody murder at the sheer bullshit on display, and aims an especially nasty cut at a juicy weakpoint she spotted!

EXTRA LETHAL NIGHT SLASH 3
(4)(2) HIT

Again, Nyan's eyes flash

(3)(4)(4)(1)(2)(2)(6)(1) + (1)(4) + (*6)(*6)

Nyan leans out of the way of the blow, the Move Missing entirely without Evasion AGAIN!

The tricky feline then gives a slow, slow round of applause to Fortuna, expression so utterly deadpan you can feel how mockingly unimpressed he is.

Encore 3!
*Rolls*
Fortuna is Encored! She HAS to repeat the same set of Actions this Round for the next 4, but due to TAUNT EX she can't! Due to TAUNT EX she'll Struggle against Nyan for now on, which will deal Full Recoil Damage to her regardless if the Move lands or not! Recalling her will Banish this Effect, but also Forfeit her from the Battle!!!

War and Wonder has had enough of this. Again she raises her gun and fires, an all consuming pink flare erupting from the barrel!

Dazzling Gleam 4!
(5)(3)(1)(1)(2)(5)(5)(3)(2)(5)(4)(3)(3)(1)(2)(4)(4)(4) BE BLINDED BY THE LIGHT. CRIT!

(2)(6)(5)(3)(1)(6)(6)(3) + (1)(2) + (*6)(*6)

Nyan covers his eyes in a Flash, turning the Crit into a Hit! ??? Triggers - Nyan becomes a Steel/Fire type!
Damage: Same as Psychic
(6)(1)(2) (4)(6)(3) (4)(6)(5) Nyan ignores the light!!!

At this point Nyan, who you were strongly suspecting had been sandbagging this entire time, wound up one arm, as if working out some kinks, and then casually strolled up to Hecate - completely ignoring Fortuna the entire time - crane his head up to get a good look at the chick, squinting his eyes as he did so.

*Rolls* HYPER CRIT.
*Rolls*  7 + 3 + STAB (*2) + ??? (*2) + Item (1) - VIT (*6) - *4 SE (??? and ME) = 9D6 + 4 Damage
(2)(4)(4) (1)(1)(5) (5)(5)(1) (4 + 4) X 2 = 16

*SSSsssss!*
*Fwsssss.....!*

Fast.

So bloody fast.

In an instant, a large Cut appeared diagonally across Hecate's body, tearing open a huge, gapping hole in her sternum, tearing a gash into her throat, and taking out one of her eyes. A geyser of warm, red-pink blood sprays out a second later, coating the battlefield in a violent haze. Some of it may even reach the hidden Seddi and co - such was the force on display.

Hecate didn't even get the chance to scream - if she could. She stood tall for one moment, and in the next fell onto her knees, reverting back into her Base Form in a dull flash of light. Once a proud Goddess of War and Wonder, now brought so low.

Hecate is Fainted/Out of the Battle with 1/1 HP , the rest Lethal Damage (10).

And right there in front of your fallen sister stood Nyan, who was so close to the verge of Death and oblvion, glaring daggers at the one that did this to her. He may have beaten her, but she will never fall to such a vile, vile cur!

Nyan himself was stained her life fluid and unflappable as ever, flicking one of his claws to the side to clean the blood off it as he looked down upon your sister. His expression was neutral - appraising, intrigued - as he studied your youngest sister.

Then, he gave her a simple nod, and wandered back over to his Partner's side,  still ignoring Fortuna, who at this point was worked up into a frothing frenzy at the DISRESPECT and what HAPPENED. You quickly Recall her before she did something you ALL regretted in her fury.

Quicksliva was also looking over you - ALL of you - for a moment, looking unhappy and chagrined about what happened, before his attention was on his cruel cat, his arms crossed and frowning down on them, tapping his foot rather irritably.

"Nyan, you know I wanted you to give them a chance. Why didn't ya?"

The cat shrugs, subtly gesturing in a way that eludes everyone but his Master...and Seddi, who's intent study spotted they were pointing at HIM for a brief moment. Now what could THAT mean...?

"*Sighs* ...You have a point, but you didn't need to be such a jackass about it. Timeout for you, buddy - no Kitty Kribz for you the rest of the week."

Nyan eyes go comically wide and shocked, the first exaggerated display of genuine emotion on his part aside for 'Pissing Us Off'  , but before he could protest he's Recalled. The Dandy Man then makes his way over to you, rumming around in his pockets for a moment before handing off a Full Restore and a TM.

"Yeah....that...was not my intent. Nyan was supposed to give you a sporting chance, but...well, guess he was feeling like putting on a circus for some Gods damn reason. Here, a FR for your sis, and a TM for Endure. TM's universal and 3 Uses, so teach it to all the Mons you can. Careful about spamming it every chance you get, though - it's a great lifeline, but one that can Fail on ya if you over rely on it. *Nervous and Regretful Laughter* Eh he he....again, sorry 'bout this...."

You (practically) Lost this Battle [Fortuna was NOT going to cut it alone against Nyan] ! All of you Gain 10 XP (Flat - No Neg Mods Here!), as well as the aforementioned goodies! Hecate and Fortuna also gain the Trait - Devilish Feline Haters - + 1 Damage, Damage Dice, and Accuracy to ALL Moves that Target Cat Pokemon, Triple that against Nyan himself!

For Seddi, Ceruledge, and Rabsca, the get an Combat Analytics Training Roll

S: (1)(3)(5) (6)(1) (4) Seddi gains 2 XP, which after his Mod is just 1. He gains + 1 XP for witnessing what is arguably a Champion Class Trainer (using his Region's Classification sys) Fight, however. He can't tell WHAT tricks Nyan pulled off , but knows that Item of his had a lot to do with how untouchable he was.
C: (1)(6)(2)(5)(2) (1)(6) (6) Ceruledge gains 2 XP, after Mods and Bonuses. She also gains 4 Successes towards Tutoring any Sword , Slash, or Cutting Style Move.
R: (3)(3)(5)(5) (2)(2) (4)(5) Rabsca gains 5 XP after Bonuses and Mods, and gains Cat Analytics Trait - + 1 Accuracy/Attempt Dice against Cat Pokemon, + 2 against Nyan.

''Sports fans sure can be a handfull, though those two were a bit more then that. Here's hoping they won't bother ya again for a while, trying to come after me is something they'll learn to regret.''

''That being said I am interested in what you were proposing. It's probably obvious that I have a bit of a connection to the sea and even if im not a swimmer myself I'd like to watch the competition, maybe even send my more swim happy partners if they feel like it.''

Kayla simply snorts at your introduction, idly looking around now that the situation was not demanding any immediacy on her part. Not the most motivated of your motley crew, but she was ever reliable and always willing to put in the work for you....provided it was for a good reason. Lani simply scampered back up into your backpack, as with the threat gone and no battles to be had she was checking out of this conversation. Penelope giggled at all this, thought she tried her best to contain her laughter.

"Pleasure to meet you Tourists! Always nice to see other appreciate Bayhama and get out and explore! *Sweet Drop* ...Even if it leads to trouble or gets them lost most the time, eh he he. Hopefully you don't take this as the usual daily thing, sir - Bayhama may be a bit wild and rough at time, but it and its people isn't lawless or troublemakers like the BBs!"

She seems a bit curious at your casual assumptions about S.F.s (and trying her best to hide a bit of nervous giggles at that...) , but shake her head at your own concerns.

"No, they won't be around here again. Prelims are finishing today before we move on to the district competitions, so the BBs and other roughnecks will be making a mess of things where those events are held. *Sighs* Here's hoping they don't bother the swim team no more, but they might out of Spite now....oh dear. I wish everyone would just get along, but you probably know better than I what competitiveness and passion can do to a person..."

Penelope's eyes sparkle at you admit your interest, with her coming forward to grip your hands as she bounces up and down!

"Really?! Great! The more the merrier! If you have a Affinity with Water you HAVE to give the Prelims! Probably nothing like what connection you have with the element, or as exciting as straight Battling, but it's a experience I think EVERYONE should have at least once! We still have a couple spots left open for Independent Swimmers or Water Specialists, man and Mon alike, and I can easily get you one spot after I tell them the mess you save me from! Here, let me give you a copy of the Rule so you can look over!"

She rumages in her lil fanny pack inventory, and pulls out a Flier that details The Swim Meet Prelims and all the Rules that entail. Doing a quick read over....

- The Meet is divided into three parts: Speed (How fast one can complete a lap back and forth across a Olympic sized swimming pool), Endurance (How far or how long one can swim against a heavy current in a more specialized Deep Sea Current Pool, and Skill (Clearing a obsticale course set up between multiple interconnected parts). Each is its own seperate category a person/Mon can compete in, but nothing is stopping the particularly ambitious from trying out all three.
- There are 3 Different Categories of Entries: Man, Mon, and Both.
- The basic rules is that the competitor has to be actually in and on the Water and move across it directly across in order to qualify - those that hover above, carrying someone over, try to use hydrokinesis to clear a path through, or use various elemental techniques to create a solid path through the water is grounds for immediate DQ. Notably, however, their are no rules against walking across the water - indeed they have a ruling concerning Surkit that permits such movement, so you could use that Ruling to simply jog through the course. Or try - if they have a ruling in place for this, that must mean the organizers have planned for it in some way and compensated accordingly...
- Scoring is based on both Completion Time, Overall Technique, and Completion of Optional Objectives - In Mechanical Terms, the Better Swimming Roll, the Better Plan you have with Said Swimming Roll or Actions, and Trying to Accomplish Side Objectives get you more points. The ones that place within the Top 3 can move onto the District Qualifiers and receive Prizing for their Rank. Participates at minimum get a couple of Bottles of Fresh Water and a couple of Oran Granola Bars (+ 3 HP, + 1 Accuracy Dice on Next Attack, Can Be Held) for their troubles

Reading over all this you look back to the school girl, who is looking at you with eager expectation. So, what's you answer going to be? Join in the Prelims directly, or simply watch with your Mons as a spectator? Or try to find a proper Trainer Battle here - though it's not a guarantee, the more Sporty Types tend to be packing Pokemon and are more than willing to have a friendly or heated match!

Oz was horrified for what happened. She just grabbed the Full Restore on Dodger hand, and used right away on Hecate. She didn't even grab the TM, since her goal was to make sure Hecate was okay. When she make sure Hecate was okay (despite the missing eye) Oz look at Dodger.

And what he see was a completely different person.

What she sees was not the kind or timid person he meet yesterday, but a pair of eyes filled with the most purest rage and hatred. If hatred could kill someone, Dodger would probably be killed at least ten times.

"How dare you...how dare you letting your Pokemon do that to Hecate?"

She calm and cold said that question, barely able to hold her wrath. How dare that...infernal cat lethal wound Hecate like this? Fortuna hold her lethal as much possible.

Oz doesn't know if it was the side effect of Black Flame, or her pasts traumas. Or both. But one thing for sure: He Wrath was immense like a ocean of lava, tempt to smite Dodger to Oblivion herself without Pokemon.

And probably she can.

Then, very slowly her rage subsided. She still very angry, but not anymore with a killing instinct. She talk again after making sure Hecate was okay.

"If was your intention or not, what a Pokemon or a trainer did it still the trainer responsability."

She said those words as cold a the sharpest ice. Just like someone different. She grab her TM, as she returns to the PokeBall.

She stand up. A bit more calm after made sure Hecate eye was regenerated. "*Sigh* I just was scared. Bad memories..." She looks at Dodger. "...Thanks for the battle regardless Dodger. Still need to get better."

The Sanddug is promptly sent to the PC to be healed.

Darren, still somewhat fatigued from the weirdo lady, makes his way to the Afterlife club. If they're closed/don't let him in, he'll find something else in that area to do.

(Perhaps one of many, depending on how many I end up drawing from....)

Since you already had a rather bad run in with Miss Fortune, I'll say that you don't find the Afterlife Club (Since it's location is rather hard to find and Oz never told anyone about it yet), but you do end up finding a nice little Alolan style dive to hang out at. They're offering some fruity drinks that help energize a weary soul (No cost), while if you're a rich guy they offer various Berry Drinks that range between $500 - $1500 Poke per glass that'll have you singing for more. They also offer a variety of Malasada for $600 (Raise Happiness, and a Chance for Bonus Effects!), or a Big Malasada for $1200 that Cures ALL Status Conditions, Raises Happiness, Bigger Chance for Bonus Effects, and can be Shared with multiple Pokemon per use (3 Uses per Unit, can be used to cure the Status of up to Three Pokemon Simultaneously, and other uses can be save until later) .  They also have karaoke if you or your partners want to goof off a little!

As for other stuff, you'll have to brainstorm ideas for yourself - going to the Bar would not constitute as a full Encounter, so either pick something to do or let fate once more carry you...

"Ugggh....I'm not helping my case any, aren't I? *Sighs, Looking back up, frowning* Look, Oz, I apologize for that Fight getting out of hand. You're absolutely right - I should've put my foot down when I realized that Nyan was going on the warpath instead of playing 'roud like I expected. Even if we're used to jiving to a more metal kind off tangos that isn't a good enough excuse - I should've told him upfront to tone it down 'fore we started. I shouldn't have tried to bush off what happened either, *Grimaces* especially considering....*Sighs, covering his eyes* yeah, I fucked up real good here, didn't I."

Hecate is fine after the Full Restore - her wounds, once so grisly, vanished as they mended rapidly before your eyes, new flesh taking the place of the missing. This included her eye, now fully healed and functional, and not a trace remaining of what Nyan did. She's actually more concerned about you and your near murderous RAGE at the moment: yes, getting almost killed in one blow was horrid, but as both a Pokemon heavily focused in combat and as your War and Wonder Witch such bloody, mortal conflicts do not overly phase her in and out of the moment. This was not the first time she'd be badly wounded and, given what they about to face in the future, it would not be the last so soon.

That, and the fact that as a Powerful Psychic she could felt that Nyan had zero intentions of killing her - she has a dark suspicion that his look over at her was to judge if he could get away with inflicting Lethal Damage or not. Doesn't make what he did any less savage, but she could begrudgingly concede he was not actively being malicious. Just a despicable curShe also conveys that the Dandy Man is genuinely remorseful for what his cruel kitty did, and that what he said was True - he didn't intend for this to happened and just wanted to have a good time with you. For that reason - and for helping you in your time of woe and brightening your SOUL - she hold no animosity towards him. Though his negligence did cause much harm, it was not him that was the bad actor, and one terrible moment shouldn't ruin a budding friendship. At least, not in this case.

All this, and more she share to you through the strong mystical Bond she has had with you, as she grips you with one of her tiny hands through her restored cloak and looked at you with worried yet calm smile. From her very birth, to when you miraculously fond a way to Unlock her True Potential, all the way to this very moment, she has been with you, and by her Power, Her Blades, and her BOOMs she would Fight tooth and nail to remain so. So don't get too upset over this - she is fine.

EDIT: Dodger seems to perk up a bit as you calmed down from your scare and anger born of worry and indignation, but he choose to remain silent for the time being, simply nodding his head a looking away, not wanting to say anything else that might put him in your bad Serene Graces again.

Well, looks like it's about time for the cowboy to step in.

Oz hears a rather familiar voice coming from the treeline!  "Don't do anything rash now, ma'am.  Wouldn't want to have to write you up for a misdemeanor."

...and appearing on the scene like he's some sort of cop is Seddi, accompanied by his Ceruledge and Rabsca!

"Roll me over and call me an olive.  Wasn't expecting to see you here, Oz.  Guess that saves us all one introduction later."

Seddi briefly turns to address Dodger.

"Some fine swordsmanship your feline friend had there, Dodger.  Managed to even impress Ceruledge.  The lady does have a point though, not that I think need to elaborate on that."

His focus then turns squarely to Oz, an apologetic look and genuine concern on his face.

"I think I owe you an apology as well, Oz.  Seems I'm unintentionally causing you grief again.  Dodger's pokemon seemed to have decided he needed to show off since I was watchin' that battle.  You and your partners doin' alright?"

For such a simple task you can easily conjure up a air freshener cantrip to make your bedraggled rodartist much more pleasant to be around! You've also had practice doing such a spell on her in the past and yourself - the life of an Alchemist can be very dirty and messy at time, don't you know!

*Later....*

Once you get on the stage and summon what is for all intents and purposes a near mythical unicorn to prance around and look pretty it doesn't take long for a crowd to form, as onlookers of all ages, genders, and kinds look on with awe at this most poised and graceful creature. He, much like his Master, is quite aloof, paying no mind to his onlookers and instead looking over at you, bowing his head towards you in respect. As his sworn Master and Rider, his devotion towards you is without question - just say the word, and he'll do as you Wish. The crowd eats this up like cotton candy, which a lot of them are hankering for upon seeing his similarly colored mane spilling all over the floor and floating in the air.

So Spell Practice for Bern with Shields, Target and Restraint Practice for Nirix, and do a small Performance collecting some Veil Color from him, eh? Let's get to the magic making then!

=======

For Spell Practice, Magical Use mainly comes in two different 'Schools' for the lay wizard that isn't an Evoker - Using your Pokemon's Moves - either through the Guantlet or by Bond - in a process generally known as 'Evocation' , and Using your collected Special Power , Capabilities, and Specialties to try and create 'Spells' in a process generally called 'Incantation'

For Evocation, it's as simple as choosing a Move of a Pokemon that is connected through your Gauntlet (or Bond, if you're daring/specialized in that kind of Magic Use) , drawing upon the well of SPE Power you share (Determining how much SPE you dedicate to the Casting), and then actualizing the Effect on to the World, most oftenly directly from and through your Guantlet (Point and Aim, Strike, Touch, etc.), or in other cases away from the Caster, as is the case for powering Runic Structures from a distance, forming Spells around you, etc.. Since you don't really have any Moves with Myra or Nix that would increase the Defenses of an Object conventionally this route is not available. Which means we have to go with Invocation, which is when things get more complicated.

Invocation can be broken down into many different kinds of 'schools' and specialties, but really it all comes do to whether a Magi is doing Prepared Casting , Instance Casting, or Innate Casting

Prepared is as it says on the tin: you have, through practice, experimentation, and much research, used the SPE Power and what else you can draw upon initially (Moves, Items, Ingrediants, etc.) to make Spells that you know well enough to whip out as needed. For example, that Invisibility Spell is one such Prepared Casting - one you have put so much research into and much practice casting you can do it on a whim with Zephy and have her maintain it without much thought or effort.

Instance Casting is just that - creating a Spell on the fly, as the instance of time demands. This is usually an inelegant and risky process that involves drawing upon either your Pokemon, Nature, and/or yourself and what you have on hand to make an Effect that hopefully does what you want.

Innate Casting is calling upon your own Specialties or Innate Traits to create a Spell that is based of those qualities, which can either wholely draw from yourself or be further bolstered by your Pokemon and other sources. If you were a Fire Mage, you could make Fireballs or warmth incantation much easier on the fly OR Prepared, for example.

In any case, Invocation follows a 'Build Your Own Spell' Model in Design Approach and Execution: Intent of Spell/Spell Desired -> Experience/Innate Talents <-> Effects/Ideas/Materials/Innate Specialties/etc. on Hand (Sources -> Research and Experimentation <->Combining the Sources Together <->  Refinement - > Final Results/Spell <-> Modifications as Needed.

For example, you want to make a Healing Spell, and you have a Mon that knows Absorb , another has Regenerator, one knows Acid Armor, and you have an understanding of Medicine. You cludge all these together the best you can: one outcome is a Reverse Absorb Effect that turns the affected away into a semi-liquid mush first, uses your SPE and/or HP to Heal and Boost the Targets Natural Regeneration to treat the damage, and then Restores the natural condition of the Body by dispelling the Acid Armor properties after the Target is healed. Generally have a Clear Idea of what How Your Spell Should Work (IE: What does it do to a Target in a 'How does a Hammer Work' sort of way)and What You Spell Should Do (IE: What is the Effect of the Spell, or 'It is supposed to apply force to a target, like a Nail getting driven into wood by') is necessary in any kind of Invocation - randomly throwing stuff together without much thought can only lead to CHAOS!, disaster, and Strange, STRANGE results....

It is possible to create a Healing Spell using just your own Power and Ideas with no external components, but with an Innate Trait (Like Fire) or heavy practice and experimentation with other Healing Spells to form a sort of 'Feel' and Specialty for that sort of Casting it's exponentially harder to do so, and tends to lead to much failures or messy results. Though sometimes such things can produce Spells that are useful despite not being what you want - creating a Cancer Spell out of a Bad Healing Spell to Curse someone you REALLY don't like is one such example of 'Happy Accidents' of Spellcasting.

========

With all that Now Known, Bern is trying to create a Protective Shield Effect on the Bottles and other Stuff. The Only 'Shield' Move he has on hand through his Mons and Guantlet is Myra's Safeguard, which only covers Status, not Damage. Nirix doesn't have any Shiled Moves himself, but he does have Growl, which weakens Physical Damage via Mystical Means and counter vibration frequencies, and his Ability, which has further protective properties and allows a certain creativity in what he can do. Myra' has plenty of other Moves that could be bent towards esoteric functions to 'Protect' something, but it'd be VERY difficult without actually harming Nirix or someone else.

Zephy, of course, has plenty of Counter Damage Effects, but That Feeling you get is Warning you that Drawing Upon Her Power wouldn't be such a bright idea....

With all that said, how would you go about making a Protective/Shielding Spell, based on what Bern Knows, What Ideas He and You Have, the Power you have on Hand, the Moves your Pokemon Knows, and ultimately how you think that Spell should Work and its Final Effect?

Also, having a Name to Say while Casting a Spell makes it much easier and can make them stronger or 'come together' better: as a freebie, the Norse Rune-Word 'Algiz' means Protection, and can be used as is or as a part of a larger Name/Chant to make a spell 'More Protective.

ttt For the rest of the Slots, I'll wait until we get Resolve the Spell Casting you want to do, or if you want me to automate the process and show it until you get a better idea of how this works.
