Vernon has changed clothes into a boating outfit, which includes nice gloves, a wide brimmed hat with a chin strap, goggles, and a brightly colored stripe down the back of his long sleeve shirt for visibility. And of course he's wearing Crocanaws on his feet.

Vernon ambles around the company, checking out any merchandise or machines while the lady sleeps. His attention is completely engrossed in the shelves or whatever - or at least he's pretending so. When it's gone on long enough without her waking, he purposely scuffs his feet loudly, or picks up something from a shelf and clonks it down with a noise, to let her save face if she wants.

There was not all that much for sale concerning boating or fishing - a few toolboxes, scuba equipment, various odds and ends to repair a boat or modifying a fishing rod, etc.  - with the business front small and sparsely stocked on the whole. From what you could see from the outside and the doors leading back it seems like  most of its operations or any 'deals' take place further in, while the area you were in was for receiving folks.

The violet hair woman jumps violently, shooting quick as a Pigeot and a hand darting to the her side beneath the counter, until she just shes you and scowls.

"A Sinnish berk? What the fuck are you doing - "

She pauses, sniffing the air for several long moments....before a wide, toothy Sharpedo-like grin streched across her face.

"Well well well. Blood and magic on a soft looking man like you. Interesting."

She motions for you to come forward, and presuming you do she leans forward on the desk, her eyes sharp as she drummed with on hand on the counter.

"You certainly don't look like somebody that dabbles with the messier and magicky side of things, but I've been wrong before. So. What brings you here to Lapis Lagoon, monk?"

"Uhh... should I leave? I tried to be polite... maybe this isn't the place for me."

"*Scoff* Maybe you are a fucking pansy after all, if you don't have the balls to answer me. Makes me even curiouser how ya got the such a stench, (Angry Sigh* but whatever!  Look, monk, Lapis Lagoon isn't any boating biz - we handle the sort of jobs others can't or won't , and can ride as rough as we play when shit hits the fan. Get the fuck out if you don't got Guts or the right sort of business here."

"The world is too wonderful and wide to spend it needlessly around people like you. Speaking loudly and crudely doesn't make you strong, and prolonging my time around such behavior would make me stupid and weak. You have a good day, ma'am."

Vernon heads out and looks for more pleasant company. Perhaps an old timer with a lot of experience on the actual water who wants a listening ear, or someone looking to brag about their craft. He doesn't mind pitching in with the labor, either, along with his bulky Pokemon who can quite literally pull their weight.

(In the interests of moving things along and getting everyone's last few Encounters of the day DONE so that we can FINALLY get to the Festival tomorrow, I'm going to set the scene for yous twos Meeting, alright?)

Once you finish swapping stories with Sylvia (and potentially learning even more unsavoriness, albeit the kind in another field [of love] entirely), you exit the Center and begin making your way to the Magi Embassy with Myra, who takes her place at your side as she keeps a vigilant but relaxed enough watch. The day has worn on her in more ways than one, and despite her mixed feelings she does want to reunite with her Master sooner rather than later, so if this cowboy can get her to him fast and safe then she's with him for now.

As you gradually wind your way out of the Commercial Distinct the sun begins to set on this Wild Day, casting the streets into shadows....

....and bringing those that lurk in the Dark out to play ~

Myra abruptly stops, sending out a low, rumbling warning growl that gets you to look around.

Around...at the suddenly empty side street you were on. Wait, this was not the direct way to the Embassy. How did you -

"Hello!"

A voice brings you out of your thoughts, and you peer further into the abnormally Dark shadows....

...and hear the *Click click* of...heels? Claws

The kitsune's growl pitches deeper, her hackles fully raised. The hairs on your own back started to stand straight up in attention.

Attention....at whatever lurked in the Shadow.

No, not 'whatever' .

Whoever.

"Sorry about leading you on a wrong pathy-trip, but the one you're looking-finding for is busy so busy!"

*Click click click*

The Darkness writhes as this....presence.

This....girl comes closer.

"Busy with yucky 'fun time' , bleh! But busy busy, SO busy as a Rimbobee, yes yes!"

*Click click click click!*

Out from the shadows, comes skipping......a small girl of some sort. If she got spliced with a rat creature in a mad experiment (or stroke of good Fortune~!) of some sort. They had long, blackish hair that seemed to never the less posses a faint, blondish/gold tint to it. They were wearing a shabby, almost makeshift looking blue dress straight out of the Victorian era - never the less it possess some sort of regal, austere, and elite quality to it. Her face....ever seen a Skaven? Try that, then putting it through the Anime + Loli filter, then crack up the Uncanny Valley setting to MAX. THAT is the sort of appearance we're dealing with.

Most striking off all, though, somehow, were the pair of bright, otherworldly, golden eyes that looked up so innocently as this....girl....stops just a little ways in front of you.

Your kitsune companion seemed posed to leap out and maul such an UNNATURAL thing, but then suddenly rears back in shock, as if seeing something Strange....

....Something you see as well, so In Tune with Myra and the....Black Magic this.....girl seemingly spurn out with her mere existence.

The faint Spector of Bernhard, hovering right behind and above the....girl, their expression seemingly in a trance-like haze.

The....girl clapped her hands - her long, long nails painted a miasmic violet that *Clacked* as they struck each other - and simply gave you a bright, innocent, and oh so joyful smile.

"So I decided to help out, aid made! Make-bring you two together for a Meeting-Accord unlike any before~! Least and most I could do...."

"F o r  m y  d e a r  f r i e n d  a n d  y o u ~~~ ! "

Ready or not, a most Strange Meeting has begun.

"And fuck you and your whoever jammed that tree up your arse, sissy monk! You'll learn real soon how Sutalör really works - crude, violent, and always willing to hurt. *Sharpedo Grin* Now Scram, before I consider you trespassing and exercise my right to blow several holes into ya and let all that hoity-toity, holier than thou air out of you, you stupid blowhard!"

....Aaaaand out you are kicked of Lapis Lagoon! A good first impression completely spoilt by an unwillingness to get on that woman's wavelength. Oh well - there is something to be said about stick to your own standards, and maybe having the balls to stand up to such a woman could earn you brownie points elsewhere once word spreads.

It's getting pretty late by the time you strike out from that business, but let's see if there is any fisher or shiphand still burning the midnight oil that's willing to help.

You end up finding an old sailor lady by her lonesome, puffing on a cigar and looking rather gloomy. She was wearing a white coat and uniform of some origin you can't divine, was old, tanned, but in good Vitality, and had a long silver pony tail tucked underneath a cap of sorts.

Unlike with the rude woman from earlier, you got the sense that, while rough and seasoned, this Lady of the Seas was a more cordial sort.

As you approached her gazes drifted over to you but she remained silent, inhaling and billowing great gouts of smoke as she patiently waited to see what a Sinnish fellow like you was bothering her for...

"Evening, Ma'am. Sorry to bother you; do you have a moment? I've recently found myself getting into raising a variety of aquatic Pokemon, including one that requires careful boating knowledge. Might you have any advice for me? I can do a little work in exchange, and some of my Pokemon can work as well. I'll take stories of derring-do, I'll take being shown around a boat, I'll take meeting salty Pokemon! Got any tales of surviving the wild storms of Sutalor?"

The old woman stares you down, glancing over you with an almost inscrutable grey gaze. Your Gut, though, tells you that she's is being particularly thorough and analytic, despite the seemingly relaxed and stoic manner she held herself too.

".....Depends. Is one of them a Cruferrophant? Sounds like one."

She puffs out another cloud of smoke before speaking again, not letting you confirm or deny her question.

"....A question for you: Why do you care? To learn The Trade? Hear the Stories of the Seas?"

A quiet, contemplative mood falls between you two - you see the salty dog's gaze go cloudy as she was remembering something, before snapping back into crystal clear focus as she resumed her staring.

Seddi narrows his eyes as he warily stares at the rat-like girl.  Welp, found the weird creature reported to be stalking the streets.  Or rather, it found them.

"And you are?  Last I checked, my meetin' with the individual you claim to be bringing to us was supposed to be private."

The rat-girl tilted her head at you, looking confused and not at all bothered by your standoffishness.

"But is this not a most private-shrouded area to meet-greet, yes yes? I'm sure that I ensured-made it so this street-path would have no-one but us-us!"

She let's out a cute(?) little gasp, though, as she remembered your question, giving a quick curtsy and another smile.

"Oh how rude-rude of me-she-we! My name-title you want, indeed indeed?"

A closed eyed, luminscent smile greets you. Literally - the very Shadows that seemed to cling to her impossibly brightened to a photo-negative and deep purple tinge.

"Ralice, Ralice, Ralice the Kind! So good-nice to meet you, my F r i e n d ' s  friend!"

Ralice.  Despite how cutesy it sounds, Seddi can't help but feel there's something sinister about that name...

...she's also reminding him far too much of a certain other individual.  Gonna need to play this carefully...

"I'm pretty sure I remember Bernhard tellin' me exactly who to expect to be there, and I can't rightly remember your name comin' up in that conversation.  Gonna need to talk to the man himself before I can include you in anythin' I was 'bout to discuss with him."
