So, I was made aware of the PokeRole Project in a casual counter conversation with a customer and after taking a look at it, I'm actually impressed.
For a free fan produced RPG supplement, they've produced a very slick and professional looking product, on par with some of the work I'd expect from a larger RPG publisher like Paizo, Green Ronin or Wizards of the Coast.
At a first pass, system mechanics are D6 based and follow the tried and true Storyteller dice pool system, which I consider something of an interesting choice (in a good way), since it places a lesser emphasis on stat crunch and system optimization and a greater focus on narrative and going on wacky adventures with your magical animal buddies. Admittedly (though this could actually be a blessing in disguise), I think the system runs primarily on GM 'Handwavium' so a lot of the workload is going to get dumped on their shoulders rather than relying on mechanical crutches, but my take is that the system is light and streamlined enough as is that that admittedly shouldn't actually be that hard to prep for.
I will admit that my two cents come with the caveat comes with not actually having seen the system in action personally so I could also be horribly wrong, but as a whole, it looks really promising.
Given it feels like a real work of love, as a fan project, I felt it could always do with a bit of hype.

If you are willing, I am always up for a good game of it. Sounds like DnD, so if we can gather some other people to play, we can have a real blast!

I'm up for it if anyone else is with the caveat that I'm narratively spent and creatively bankrupt right now and would greatly appreciate if someone else was willing to GM.

Definitely count me in for a session or two, but not just now please… having other concerns to worry about right now and am not through the Core Book yet.
And not as the narrator/Gamemaster (sometime later, maybe but gladly) – while I have some experience in textual RPing, it’s a slightly different matter here.

So, a staffer of mine ran a short one-off session on one of his days off and I actually got some under the hood experience with the system.
My initial read is pretty much accurate for the most part: It definitely has a White Wolf Storyteller-esque Dice Pool feel going for it (which is great, because I actually like the Storyteller system). Stats do seem slightly stacked towards Dex for the most part since almost all combat stat rolls (accuracy, initiative, etc) seem tied towards it nothing major from a surface read, but might become an issue in the long run. It's also very dependent on handwavium, which depending on your personal style, could be a huge plus or minus (for me, that's a plus).
Despite my dice betraying me horrendously (managing to do no damage while losing to a pidgey random encounter is just... sad), I had fun.
I could conceivably see myself running this if I manage to shake my GM drought and get a group together, and given how rules light the system is, I could see it working as a PBF game.

I'd be willing to join in myself if you didn't mind having to work around a fluctuating work schedule (if it ends up not being a one-off. Not much of an issue otherwise). I've been wanting to try out something like this for a little while.

This looks wonderful, but... what am I looking at.
sry, I feel dumb asking.
Is it a fan-game like uranium?
I really want to know.
Images of (game) play would be lovely, too!

Pokerole is a tabletop RPG type thing, like DnD. It also happens to be one of the better and/or simpler ones I've seen recently.

this looks really cool, thuogh I'm still unsure of what this is A very, very brief explanation: The basis of a tabletop RPG is all in the provided rulebooks. Gotta read through it and apply the appropriate rules depending on if you're a player or the Dungeon/Game Master (or DM/GM for short). The DM/GM is the one who runs the show, deciding what happens based on what you roll and what the story you'll be experiencing is.
