However, she noticed something as the glanced at her, as they held eye contact for barely a second. There was something fierly in his gaze. Was it determination? Like if wouldn't mind taking the risks and running headforward into danger if it would be for good or for something he believed in? Sure, she cannot know (yet?) what his goals and intentions are, but if he would keep such an intimidating attitude in battle, she could definitely learn a thing or two.
She watched him leaving. ... They're leaving one after another! If you don't want to be left behind, get yourself going! She focused on Prof. Mallorn again.
"Okay then, I'll take four additional Antidotes for now, that Full Heal of yours will be kept for emergencies. I might come back some time later for a Pokedex as well."
In exchange for mentioned items and the Pokeball containing her Startermon, she handed over the 400$, and stuffed everything into her bagpack. Thanking him again for taking the time to welcome new Trainers and the job information at the Day Care Center, she bid him farewell for now and lmade attempts to head over to where the others went so far. Ventus (or whatever his name was) was already in a conversation with who appeared to be a police officer, probably not in commission anymore. He was, along with Nathan, intelligent enough to stand a little back - even if that was just to prevent the Growlithe by his side from barking and biting to protect its owner. Either they knew that anyway or they learned this lesson by getting to know a Growlithe's fangs once before. Its species seems to loose this "openly aggressive" (that's what the bad tongues say) habit once they evolve into Arcanine; maybe because their impressive height, majestic apperance and overwhelming strenght were more than enough to say "Don't mess with me or my owner".
To think about that, Shiva has never ever hear about an egg having black spots. Green spots in all shades and size? Yes. No spots? Yes. But black spots...? Must be something very weird or very special... Ah, she had the feeling that this not-old-but-old, grumpy-but-possibly-caring-at-heart man would take good care of it - hopefully she happens to be around when it hatches.
Then, are the Professor and Ventus acquinted? What relationship do they share? She could not help but to be curious. He apperantly has a Doctor's Degree. In what? He didn't appeared to be much older than she was. She struggled to sort him into something. He didn't looked like a scientist, nor a medic, and least a teacher, and didn't behave like one would expect it from such people. Hmm... Maybe if she could stick with him for the time being, he would tell her. Plus, he seem the most sympathic to her. Whether his friendlyness was honest or a facade for something, she couldn't tell that just now.
From the window next to the lab's exit she could see that the sky was still dark. She couldn't tell whether it was still raining (as she headed to the lab, it luckily was not) or not, but some things were for sure - the air was moist and the streets wet. That unique scent that's only present after a rainfall would linger. Definintely a weather condition a Cottonee would NOT enjoy. Too bad, she would glady let it come out of its ball and see whether it would accept her as its master. "Master" - God, she will have to get used to that title.
She approached the other party members. Carefully.
"...You people don't look very pleased. Did I, well, miss something in the past five minutes?"
Speaking in a soft tone that would hopefully not cause any more distress, she now gave them a slightly confused look.
Nathan turned to see Shiva had come over. Looking her over, she looked somewhat confused and cautious. She looked like she didn't want to upset anyone there, and the confused look implied she didn't know what had just happened between him and Ventus. Well, he'd have a quick talk with her in a moment. What interested him more right now was what Ventus had just said in response to his cold reception...ah well, he'd talk with him later. As much as Nathan had ignored Ventus after the initial responses, he had caught that he seemed to genuinely want to help. In what way, he didn't know. But not just any trainer could obtain a Togepi and keep it happy...and he did feel just a little sorry for the two of them as they walked out into the rain as well. It couldn't be pleasant for either of them, seeing as Ventus was wearing sandals of all things and the Togepi was likely experiencing its first thunderstorm since hatching...
After that passing thought, he looks towards Shiva. "Sorry if I seem a little distracted right now. I assume you heard at least a little bit of what's going on with me and Ralts, yes? Well, it's probably not a topic to discuss at length here anyways...you'll hear all about it later, I'm sure. For now, let's get started on the right foot. The name's Nathan." He extends a hand in greeting. "Shiva, right? I have to say, starting up a pokemon day care center isn't exactly the easiest job in the world. You really have to know your stuff on almost every single pokemon that might show up at them. If you do know your stuff when it comes to pokemon, I don't think I'd mind the company on this journey I'm about to go on. And that's one of the reasons I'm going to accompany you to Ginger Town. Along with Vincent I can assume, seeing as he's our escort. Not sure about Ventus. Nor Nate over there."
In fact, he did wonder what the heck Nate was doing...he still hadn't really done a whole lot since arriving. Was he merely observing the situation as it unfolded? Or was he just not paying much attention to it so far? Whatever the case, he did notice that Nate had been staring at a particular pokeball on Mallorn's table for quite some time now...
