I've spent a lot of effort establishing a meta-plot with said critter, and working around the fact that it's loyalty and happiness are flat zeroes. 
With said Paras, I'd prefer it if you'd respect the fact that it's skittish, sees it's owner as it's current food source and currently avoids human contact like the plague.

Mate, I specifically stated that it was comfortable in Ven's arms, not everyone's elses. He has an Insight of 4 and has done a bunch of Pokémon research, so not being good with Pokémon would be rather out of character for him. Still, I'll leave him and the rest of your Pokémon alone if that is what you wish. Sorry for the trouble I caused.

He's going to be worried that you suddenly left on him, though, unless you retcon that move.
