How neat! Was that a 'I'm sorry' from Larry...? It appearantly was. She wasn't quite sure though whether it was an honest excuse... Something in her struggled to believe it was. No idea why... But her feelings very rarely lie to her. And thinking that everything's fine between them by a simple 'I'm sorry' is adorable, but sadly unrealistic.
Still, she appreciated his words. Not much up for that right now, though, so she replied with a neutral "Nevermind. Shall be alright." Cottonee definitely won't forgive him, she understands her fluffball well enough meanwhile that she can be somewhat sure this.
Hearing Larry complain about the lack of food, she remembered something... Shortly after, she fished out a (packed) sandwich from bagpack and slid it over to Larry. "Here. That's the last one I snatched from the Pokemon Center in Trillium, but I'm fine for today and it might be spoiled tomorrow." Kept a neutral tone in her voice instead of the usual soft one. Might be unwillingly though, or just because she's a little tired by now.
Spotting Tramp nearby doing...something on the RV, she remembered another thing - carefully, she approached him. "Ehm... Listen... I caught up that you mentioned HM Fly earlier. So, are they indeed that rare in Chresire?"
Better not mention that at home, exactly this HM is lying around on a shelf among the various collection of TMs. All stuff her father needs and often uses for his job.
"And, you said that Fly get weaker upon being passed to a Pokemon from its parents... What do you mean by that?" Indeed, Shiva knew that TM and even HM moves can be passed via breeding. But the 'getting weaker' part wad new to her.
Nathan looks up when he hears Shiva talking about Fly. He's read about HMs plenty of times before, as both TMs and HMs play a large role in trainer life in most regions. "Yeah, that's one of the reasons HMs have become much more highly sought after in recent years. It was discovered that the effects of the moves diminish over a long period of time if they weren't taught by the actual HM. Not even the TM versions of some of those moves that were developed in Alola are able to perfectly replicate the effectiveness of HMs. I can't say I've ever heard of an actual HM appearing in Creshire due to their scarcity. As far as I know, there isn't even mass production of TMs here, let alone HMs. HMs are few in number and incredibly hard to replicate. Whoever makes them must keep the secret of their differences from TMs closely guarded. The only trainers I've ever heard of obtaining actual HMs are the ones that went on to become Champions in regions other than Alola. You know which ones I'm talking about, I'm sure."
Ralts is now trying to grab the pearl and lift it, but is failing to do so. For the little pokemon barely over 1 foot tall, it's reeeaaaalllly heavy, as Nathan had deduced earlier.
