Part of the reason why Ventus won't straight up give the Combee to you is just how unlucky and irresponsible in game Larry is. Going into tall grass alone and having to be bailed out is one thing, but ignoring most if not all his Pokémon, doing bone headed things like have them all out at once without giving them prior orders to carry out, being a jerk to Shiva (Ventus never forgets. Never.).... I could go on, really

Let's not forget that Larry's also capable of straight up murdering his Pokémon. Even as ruthless Ventus can be at times, he would never do that to his own Pokémon.

To put it politely, Ventus has good reason to be reluctant about trading away a potentially dangerous Pokémon...

hey at least he treats them as his friends and talked ekans to calm down or else Larry could resort to putting him down (NOT MUDER PUTING DOWN YOU NON AMERICANS ITS LEGAL IN NORTH AMERICA IN THE SOUTHERN STATES!)(Larry didn't mean to "hurt Shiva's feeling" remember he wasn't raised by a father who taught him how to treat girls or women he was taught by a strong gym leader that wanted to see him in Larry and Larry's mom hasn't always been the "oh hello Larry dear!" type of mom she fought with Larry so much over how he has been treated by his uncle hoping that his mom would help but doesn't same with anyone else)(also Larry resorted to a life of crime but tries not to tell anyone)

Plenty of Honey for both baking and general application, like Pokémon hunting~ Though, if Larry doesn't aquisit to the trade, the Princess is going to be traded away at the next town. I said she would become a mighty Vespiqueen; I never said it would be me that would do the job!

Larry is going hunting for something about the equivalent of a female combee *looks at some weedle and a pokeball that looks like the combees pokeball* I got a plan!

Finding an equivalent trade for something as rare as a female combee (or Salandit) is not going to be that easy, Larry...and while Beedrill are decent, they aren't immediately amazing...in fact, they aren't typically amazing at all if you don't have access to Mega Evolution.

EDIT: And you can't just steal another trainer's pokemon.  That's illegal, and they won't listen to you at all since you aren't their trainer.  And if you get caught (you will), the party's trust in you will go down significantly, and that's low even as is.

Uh huh, sure.

BTW, I've actually used a Beedrill in gen 1 before.  It was hard.  Very hard.  Fun, but hard.  I don't recommend it if you want to keep your sanity.  When most hits kill you and the only things you can reliably kill are the things you hit super effectively, that makes for a very difficult pokemon to use.

@Iron can beedrills be as killer as they are in the anime, Larry needs the beedrill described in that video

By the way, in-game Larry also claims to be a Breeder. Ohhh, I'd advice not to tell this to Shiva! Might hurt her feelings and pride. ^^

I would like to keep arguing so I can learn to argue with some fans of every non Arkansas team but this wont help in that at all!
to be honest Larry is not one for secrets so that wont be a promise. But Larry can try to get in a "ok" place with shiva (wth I haven't done any thing since day 3?)
