Pokemon Eggs are not true eggs, so they don't work for baking or eating. I'm not sure even an Ekans would go for it. Creshire uses substitutes like flaxseed to bake!

"Here's where we keep the eggs. It's just a giant incubator!"

She leads you to a room with multi-level incubators, glass rooms spread with sawdust and warmed by many lights.

"And here's our pride and joy. A little Magby that hatched unexpectedly, who likes to sleep in the incubators with the eggs! Oh, and we have a Camerupt, too, but he's busy giving rides at the festival. He comes back here at night. That's his stall over there. Eggs need to be with other Pokemon to hatch. Each of these incubators has a little cat door where the parents can visit, if they're staying with us. That makes baby Pokemon happy. But an interesting fact is that Pokemon eggs hatch faster when they travel with battle-ready trainers. Why could that be??"

"Oh! This egg! That's what I was trying to think of!!" She lifts a black and white spotted egg from the incubator.

"A cop, or ex-cop, or something....anyway, he sent this via PC just before you got here. I think you would be the perfect person to carry this! We don't know what species it is. Let us know when you find out! He also wrote a note on it in Sharpie (tsk tsk) saying you should let Professor Quickbeam, at Telperion University, know all about your findings! Will you take it?"

She shows you their collection of portable incubators, which you can borrow. Although some people like to just carry the eggs around - they are quite tough.
