Well... that solves the Knockdown shutout conundrum.

Iron also asked about this on the pokerole forums.  The pokerole team answered with 'all knockdown status does to your opponent in the end is reduce their accuracy by 1 die if they attack you from the ground.'  They don't have to get up to hit you if you're still right next to them (even if it's a bipedal pokemon using a move like Karate Chop from a Machop) which you will be the same turn that you knocked them down.  They might even still roll around or crawl while on the ground to move, just with -1 penalties to any actions they try to make.

Link to that question

Sat down and ran the theoretical numbers after reading that thread and seeing developer intent.

Starting to see why the built the +2 accuracy dice on single moves into the system along with the metered potion usage. Health manipulation is a big thing. Also, if Pokemon stats are unlinked from Trainer stats, in the early game you unfortunately see a lot of 1 Dex Mons, so a huge part of the early game becomes focused on chip damage, where that +2 is actually crucial to being able to do anything and being able to force damage through via weakness manipulation is huge.

The Multi-Action penalty along with the inherent +2 accuracy to single strikes actually penalizes the bob-and-weave style, since the +2 pretty much shuts down evading hard unless you are matching it with a single action evade.

Nothing major that affects this game specifically, but I'm starting to recognize what they were building for. Not a great outcome mechanically with a greater focus on the Tackle Trade that characterizes low level Pokemon (I'd personally describe it as clunky - Iron I believe called it 'strugglebug'), but functional.
