At this point, I think Shiva either lets Masquerain be or pulls out Plusle and Minun if she REALLY doesn't like the bug.  This fight is a lot of trouble for someone who's not very practiced at it, and she'd need the type advantage to be able to do much of anything to it reliably it seems...

Don't tell Shiva what to do XD She knows very well that her rodents have a type advantage, but this will only exploit this when worst comes to worst. Azurill deserved XP.

Violence is not the answer.

Depends on the situation, I guess.
Shiva persuaded a half team of Pokemon to join her without any hint of violence. But sometimes, a vile witch who wants to see the opponent choke on toxic Fairy Dust replaces this. Somewhat blue.
