Usually, when a chara departs from the group, they make a note of it to the DM and the other players, either in their thoughts/dialoge/stage directions so that we know OOC where they are going to be at, and plan accordingly.

Example: Ventus leaves the house, planning to return to town and collect his rewards for treating the sick Shelmet and catching that Wurmple.

Or- Order: Return to town, collect reward from odd jobs, then meet up with others at Genesect statue.
