I ask this because Shiva paralyze Pinsir dude, leaving him with 0 DEX, so does that mean his Pinser effectively has 0 DEX added to its pool?
Yes on the trainer stats for pokemon. Wouldn't be very fair otherwise, no? The Pinsir has to be paralyzed itself though to lose that 2 Dex. While the stats are shared, the statuses are not.
I also asked Iron about the mechanics of Megas, and in addition to the type and ability of the Mega, they also get +1 to all their attributes (though HP doesn't change because of the additional Vitality, so it's more like +1 Defense instead). So technically, the Pinsir has 3 Dexterity, 3 Strength, 3 Defense, and however much Insight.
Thanks for answering not only that question, but a few question I have had on mega Evolutions! Its a game changer, that is for sure! Basically, while trainers supply stats to a Pokémon, if their stats get reduced artificially (ala Thunder Wave or Intimidate), those changes don't carry over to their Pokémon in battle. Only if it permenantly decreases a trainer's base stats or if the Pokémon itself is inflict with a stat changer does it start to hobble combatants. Bare DM fiat, I don't think their are any ways to do that naturally, so no worries about Level Drain in this campaign!
Well, let's see...what could decrease a Trainer's stats? Hmmm...
Well, taking Lethal damage might, for starters. Those injuries aren't life threatening for nothing. Receive an injury that cripples your movement? There goes Dexterity or Strength. Lose an eye? Insight might go down. Raked by Skuntank's poisonous claws? Might harm your Vitality. Of course, that would probably only affect the trainer in the end, and leave the stats unaltered for the pokemon. And Lethal damage doesn't always have to be crippling, either. Well, unless you specifically command a pokemon to use a Lethal move on a particular area and score enough successes to hit it...
To actually lose experience value outright though would probably have to be supernatural or divine influence (or time travel shenanigans). Not something to be taken lightly.
