And my observation on that: Moves such as Bind, Wrap, Fire Spin, etc only trap the target for four turns according to the Core Book, unlike Block, Mean Look, and trapping abilities, which block switching as long as the user of the move or ability is on the field.  Zippy would have been in the same situation, though Pinsir would have dropped him too in order to use X-scissor on Kirlia, so...

I guess we can just say Pinsir might have been just a tad nicer than its trainer if it let Nathan withdraw Zippy before he fainted?  It was ordered to take care of the bee first, then move on to Kirlia, after all...the trainer never specified how to take care of the bee first, after all.
