Given Nathan doesn't trust Sage and Ven is concerned over him, me is the only one who has a somewhat neutral and silently curious attitude towards him... Aside from seemingly ordering lethal damage she got the feeling that he clearly knew what he was doing. 

As for the meds he takes without hesitation, we don't know anything about that currently and I bet he won't outright tell us why. Appearantly Valium is involved, which is mostly used to treat anxiety and panic disorder...
