This just sweetened the fact that I sucessfully acquired four Pokemon so far. Thank you! And good luck with Joltik!~
Inflicting Status Conditions does help, it reduces 1 Willpoint and does not decrease their HP.

Yeah, I'm very impressed with how lucky your captures have been.  Every pokemon you've obtained has had that base 2 Happiness and Loyalty so far (with the sole exception of Azu).  I'm hoping appealing to Joltik's desire to recharge off of electrical sources will help me obtain it more easily.  That, and Kirlia's psychic abilities adding one success to Nathan's Insight.

Yeah, that's the other reason I wanted to get an electric type.  Thunder Wave is pretty amazing when it comes to making pokemon easier to capture over a long period of time.  Though Sleep and Freeze should be slightly more effective.  Poison and Burn are decent too if all you care about is catching the pokemon, but then you have to worry about potential lethal damage after the pokemon faints...not sure if the volatile statuses such as Confusion and Attract would do anything though, since they don't affect capture rates at all in the games. It also shouldn't affect happiness and loyalty too much as long as you take proper care of the pokemon afterwards and heal the status condition. Leaving them that way after capturing them is what might cause problems.
