However, if the ghostly blade has a master/trainer that it greatly respect and hold loyalty to, it will limit its passive effect to a far more tolerable levels. Given that you are able to wield the Pokémon so easily, I would say that the two of you share a increadily strong bond, so the Life Drain is limited to its bare minimum."

So while debate is still out as to Honedge true spirit, its mostly falls in the latter category of Ghost Pokémon creation."
