The legal system here has the feel of 'Guilty until Proven Innocent', and I believe I would have to work unreasonably hard to clear my name to a judge and jury that will likely be apathetic to my case, if not outright hostile. That is what my intuition told me, so I head its advice and went there to pay my fine, and left.
