Actually I don't want Larry to do any more trading without my permission. When someone leaves the party, they take their stuff with them, minus a few plot-crucial elements that I would fiat.
My reasoning behind this is that someone not in the party won't value their Pokemon as much as someone still actively playing. It's too much like looting. Plus, Larry is not really following the mechanics of the game (or at least not a Player Character) anymore.
As GM, however, I think that might be a fair trade, so if Super_Trainer_Larry thinks it's a trade Larry would want, I'll allow it.
Shiny Pokemon are worth more money, but fossil Pokemon are very desirable by completionists.
