Besides, given that Valder declined taking Ronin Spearow from me and there will be enough weapons for the bird to use (I highly doubt Sensei would refuse taking him from me), I see no point in trading the knife for one of the Sticks, you can keep them. Sorry about that! This means the knife will be in my possession for a while now, will use it for harmless activities like cooking/baking and harvesting herbs + berries. If Ven would like to have it back, you'd have to bring up a good reason why...

I do see one point in getting the Stick back, actually...didn't Shiva already promise the Spearow she'd get at least one of the sticks back for him?  Spearow might resent her a little if she sends him off and leaves without doing that first...and I'm sure Sensei would be much happier with the spearow if it didn't break training poles in two all the time to use as makeshift replacements.
