She might not have to watch it, but she is 'dreaming' about it...and that's what Nathan's concerned about.  It's why he's making it a point to keep Ventus from immediately killing all of them.

Which he's going to bring up to Ventus when the battle is said and done.

If you explain that to him, Ven will not kill them. He cares deeply about her, and doesn't want to traumatized her anymore than he has. He will kick them while they are down, though.

At which point, they can then have a civilized talk as they figure everything out.  Perfect!  Though Houndour getting to meet Ventus is probably still going to be put on hold until the next in-game day...
