Can't make any promises about Houndour not meeting Espurr as long as Nathan doesn't know about the potential problems with that meeting.
Being a Creshire native and an extremely caring trainer, he's not going to appreciate any hatred towards his pokemon. A pokemon is still a pokemon in the end, and this Houndour is...different from the rest. To what extent, Nathan doesn't know. But leaving its original pack is a rather big deal, and not a light decision...if it were just like all the other Houndour, then it would have just ignored him and disappeared with the rest of the pack.
There's a LOT of reasons Nathan picked up that Houndour, both in and out of character.
He'll be as respectful about any squeamishness about it being present as he can, though. He knows there's good reason for it.
