As far as her self worth goes, Nathan did say that she's stronger than she might think.  It's a small consolation, but it's earnest.  He's seen first hand just how strong she can be.  He didn't talk about the 'support from the shadows' part, but he doesn't feel like he needs to.  She'll have her time to shine eventually.  That much, he's certain of.

As far as the depression goes, most everything he mentioned ties into that in some way.  While he didn't say anything about it directly, Kirlia is NOT telling him she was thinking about doing something irreversible.  It's not something he needs to know about if it isn't an immediate emergency.  Hopefully, this support from Nathan helps to fix most of that depression since it hit most of the causes.  It won't fix all of it since Ventus is still a cause for concern for her, but Nathan doesn't know that yet either.

And if Shiva wants to talk about any of it further, well...Nathan's already promised his support for whatever she needs already.  He's familiar with emotional fritzes and depression for obvious reasons, so he has some solid advice to give if asked for it.

Currently, Kirlia's damage pool with Confusion against Aspis is:

2 Power + 3 Strength + 1 Clamperl Pearl + 1 STAB + 1 SE - 4 Vitality = 3 D6 + 1 Damage

Add in one more D6 if Kirlia has Calm Mind up.

Four damage dice + 1 is still pretty respectable!  

And Kirlia has plenty of tricks to try and even the playing field against that giant HP stat of 15.  I'm not sure if Acid Spray should lower attack or defense, though...the writers changed it to attack, but that entirely changes the usage of the move from how it works in the games...

Must have missed the other meaning of the 'stronger than you think' part of Nathan 's speech , so forgive me of being critical on that point.

As for the depression andwhirlwind of emoions plus numbness that Shiva's experirncing... Nathan can certainly relate to her like Ventus and offer advice , but he doesn't really have the same grasp of emtions like an empath can. Ben also has much more experience handling this of enotional fallout...even if most of it is from treating his own issue by himself , and a few other cases. 

That , and the fact he has a hidden crush/closer personal bond with her than Nathan , he might be able to reach farther into her and help deal with some problems that she would not be comfortable sharing with Nate .

4d6 + 1 is good , but you are more likely to average out 2-3 damage per hit , thought that adds up quickly with Consec. Attacks ! If Apsis land's an Acid Spray , though , or Raphael Charms them in A DB , Then the damage sops further to 1-2 damage per attack which is somewhat woeful even with multiple actions . If Iron decides to change it back to how it work in the games, though , then Korma is going to be in big trouble from Bites...
