As far as the depression goes, most everything he mentioned ties into that in some way.  While he didn't say anything about it directly, Kirlia is NOT telling him she was thinking about doing something irreversible.  It's not something he needs to know about if it isn't an immediate emergency.

In wonder a little how Kirlia was able to pick this up since I believe he isn't able to pick up thoughts...?
Maybe it was that very short hint of soothing as well as intense fear that came along with that thought. After things cleared with natha, the danger has been mostly dimished though. Luckily.

That would indeed be because of the 'allured' comment Shiva made to herself.  While he indeed can't pick up thoughts, the feelings Shiva would have had when she thought that...well, they could be hard to hide.  I can always do a little editing if needed, though.
