Nathan wakes up rather tired feeling, but well rested. He'd felt it again last night. There was something off about Kirlia's psychic powers...just what it was, he couldn't quite pinpoint, but it felt incredibly strong last night...well, at least he hadn't been plagued by nightmares last night. Seems their interference had thrown a wrench into that Houndour pack's 'fun' after all. Hopefully, they wouldn't come back...
He gets up, gets dressed, grabs the gloves Vincent had given him, spends the early morning practicing his fighting (Fight levels up to 3 for 16 EXP thanks to the 1 EXP from the day changing!), then gives them and himself a much needed washing.
Today was the day. They'd been here for over a week now, and he'd been waiting for this moment.
It was time to get ready for the Gym Battle.
It was going to be tough. But he figured he'd be able to manage it. Kirlia has a few tricks up his metaphorical sleeves, after all, and Porygon2 has more than just Tackle to attack with. And depending on what secondary types his opponent's pokemon have, he might still have an edge with his decent variety of types. If it came down to it, he also has Orthros with Beat Up, but he still didn't think the hound would be reliable in battle...well, he'd just have to bring it along for the ride. Orthros could see for himself just how tightly knit Nathan is with his pokemon. Or tries to be, anyways...the dog had seemed rather pleased with the treat last night, at least, so that was good. Feeding him shouldn't be a problem.
But what a way to start the day off...when he finds himself in the lobby, Ventus is waiting there already. Of course he was. Initially, Nathan just heads over to the PC to swap out the Combee duo for Swiftfire and Porygon2 (for the strategic advantage, since flying doesn't offer much against most ghosts that other types he has can't handle), not saying a word to Ventus.
Once that's done, he walks over to the table Ventus is at and sits down across from him. He's not sure what to say...and he still doesn't really want to risk bringing out Orthros...he's got Starmie's pokeball palmed though, ready to bring the starfish out if Orthros forces his way out, just in case...
Kirlia looks a little nervous in contrast to Nathan's glum focus, but does his best to try and relax. No reason to get worked up over nothing, right?
