The butler comes back. "Mr. Chuckles will see you within an hour. He sent a note explaining his special item rules. He is resting, but he says he is feeling fine today."
The note is printed on stiff homemade paper, like a fancy invitation. It's dark gray with golden lettering. It quickly welcomes you to the Gym, then gets to the heart of its message.
Each pair of challengers gets to pick and provide one item, which is placed on the floating candelabra in the Battle Room. Trainers may access either of the two items whenever they wish. The catch is this: Chuckles has access to a copy of each item for his own use. If a copy of the item cannot be found, Chuckles gets to choose whatever item he wishes in its place.
Held items do not count against this limit. Mr. Chuckles may also use held items. No one may change a held item once battle begins.
