Nathan flinches a little at the thought of Banette going Mega...but he gets himself together fairly quickly.
'No, it's unlikely he'd have a Mega in the first place. Particularly such a rare one for this region. There's no reason to worry about it if it doesn't happen. I am NOT afraid of these ghosts. They're still pokemon at the end of the day, just like Houndour.'
So, analysis time. Aspis was snoozing, so now Grid was much more vulnerable...Banette had vanished...Gengar had only used 2 of its 4 attacks...Grid was also cursed, as was Aspis...and burned on top of that...Ventus was starting to really worry him...Gengar was looking a little tired too...must have put a lot into making sure that Hypnosis had a chance of hitting...time to make a play, then.
"Sorry to burst your bubble, Chuckles, but I'm using one of our substitutions. Grid, great job for now! Get back over here, and I'll help you extinguish that burn!"
As Grid scuttles back, Nathan sends out Porygon2! (Download triggers)
"Alright, Porygon2, use Psybeam three times! Take that Gengar down, then hit the Banette that's going to reappear any second now, and don't Hold Back if you'd miss removing Gengar from the fight because of it! Use Aspis as cover, just like Grid was doing! If there are no targets to hit, use Defense Curl instead, then Sharpen if there's still no targets and you have an action left!"
Psybeam
Accuracy: 3 Dex + 3 Fight + 2 Canalize -3/4/5 Actions = 5/4/3 D6
Damage: 4* Strength + 2 Power - 2* Defense = 4 D6 (+1 Damage against Gengar)
Effect: May Confuse. 1 Chance Die.
Defense Curl and Sharpen (only if there's no targets Porygon2 can attack with Psybeam)
Accuracy: 3 Dex + 3 Fight + 1 Brawl - 3/4/5 Actions = 4/3/2 D6
Effect: +1 Strength/Defense
Extinguish
(3 Dex + 2 Survival)x2 helper - 1 Curse (if switching doesn't remove it) = 10 D6 - 1 Success
