Gonna have to take some precautions now, though...at least Reiner didn't walk away empty handed. $5000, a bunch of items for Team Rocket to hack and use, and a Heliolisk. And Emily's bag of coins (which is ALMOST enough for a Porygon if we're going by its cost of 6500 coins in Blue and LG and $10k for 500 coins)
But good grief...Archie rolled a success on every single die with that gun...yikes...
The Heliolisk is worth 2 Pokémon, due to being a rare Kalos species not found normally in Kanto. Archie isn't coming back into the campaign, not after you thoroughly owned him in that one last assault! Maybe in later ones, as a recurring boss for Reiner (If we do a game that connects to this one) , but he's outa here! The Merchant can unhack those Full Restores for you if your bring them to them, but at a cost of $500 Poke each (They are a business person, not a charity!).
Truth be known, Yggdrasil was going to die regardless the damage the gun inflicted on him. I just made his death a cutscene one for the purpose of introducing Guns and how bloody lethal they can be, and just how big of a monster Archie really is when pressured past the breaking point.
Gun damage can work one of three ways in this game:
1. Gun use half the person's strength stat round up, plus what ever base damage the round your firing has. This mainly applies to Handguns, revolvers (Like ARchie's), and powerful single shot weapons (Sniper rifles). Depending on the round fired (Such as the .500 round), the shot can also partially or completely ignore defenses. In Yggdrasil's case, since it left its master and was not expecting an attack, he had effectively 0 Vitality against the shot.
2. Gun has a flat damage value per shot, but it ignore all defense that could impair its damage. Semi-Automatic Weapons like Uzis, AK-47s, and Fully automatic weapons have this damage type, and can preform multiple actions due to their nature. Certain types of handguns can also have this quality, however, so be on the lookout for them as well
3. Gun has a set, randomized amount of potential damage it can inflict on a target, which can vary depending on range and accuracy of the shot itself. Shotguns, Scatterguns, burst weapons like a nail gun or a modified compressed air blaster, and Explosive damage works like this. Steel, Rock, and Dragon types suffer - 1 Damage to these attacks, on top of whatever Defense score or abilities they have, but the damage can be large depending on the gun.
Gun can also have qualities like Sniper (Plus Crit Damage), Rapid Fire (2-5 Actions in a row) , Elemental (Inflicted a specific type of Elemental Damage), etc.
Like the wind, I come and go as I please... but I am always there to provide a comforting breeze.
