This is actually a really interesting test case! The way it's worded, Mirror Coat still works if the attack hits and does no damage (same is true in the games, I believe).

The ACTUAL initiative order worked much more in your favor than the one that somehow got in my brain!

You are going to do wonderful in your first trainer battle, I am sure of it!" he said, praising his blue demon's actions in the battle, while also making double sure that neither the Big Buzz nor Gust actually did damage to him. The last thing he wants is for the little one to have an injury go untreated!

He had not rewarded her himself for a job well done during Chuckle's battle, after all, so this should more than suffice as a present!
