Nathan summons Swiftfire to bring a little light into the corridor, then walks over to the Burn Drive replica and picks it up before anyone else can.

"Ventus, that statue was probably just going to cover the entrance anyways since the Scimitars aren't playing games.  And from the looks of this chute, that button needed to be pressed if we wanted to get this back."  He holds up the Burn Drive for emphasis, then pockets it.

"Besides, you REALLY don't want the rangers to find out about this and potentially getting the League involved, not if you want a fair shot at finding Silverfish.  And for reference, Teleport doesn't let you leave enclosed spaces like buildings and caves.  Like it or not, we were going to get stuck down here anyways if we can't open the entrance from this side, and I'd feel a lot better with still having the key in our posession than leaving it outside."

Ventus shields his eyes from the sudden light brought on by Swiftfire, before he removes his hand and glares at him. Politely as he can, he shakes off Shiva's grip on his and marches right up to Nathan, and gets right up to his face and just snapped on him. "You know what, Nathan? I don't damn care, because it doesn't excuse you acting like a blundering fool. Acting before thinking or informing us of your choices could damn well get us killed in this type of situation . First you press a button that completely cut us off from the outside without even knowing what it could do in the first place, and now you create a large source of light that could alert the Scimitars to our presence and give them the chance to do just about anything to us. They could swarm us, have enough time to set up or activate traps, organize a defense, or , if they are especially fearful and paranoid about one of their base of operations being discovered, just flee and scuttle the entire area, killing us all and doing who knows what else to the town above this place. You didn't consider ANY of that, did you, or if you did, you bloody don't act like it!" the empath furiously whispered, jabbing a finger straight into Nathan face. Oh boy, the boy struck a raw nerve within the researcher something FIERCE.

"Oh, and one more thing: don't you fucking dare use Silverfish or the Rangers against me. You didn't get to befriend them, being ripped away from them because you cared too much, then be informed that that they not only escaped from their confinement, but could be in even worse straights! You didn't have to struggle against the law when you were young, just because if they ever found out you were an young orphan or what you did to just support yourself, they wouldt either lock you up or put you into horrible foster care! Do you have any idea how that makes me feel, every time I think about their fate, and wonder whether or not they are even alright at this point? To have the authorities leveled at me? No. So don't EVER do that again, because if you do...I'll wound you just like what you did to me. Now that I'm finished with everything I said, give me that Drive. You don't deserve to hold it now, not after demonstrating you are not competent enough to handle such a responsibility by recklessly endangering us all!"
