(08-16-2017, 01:35 AM)Lord Windos Wrote: Archie reacted to that statement of yours. Slowly his head rose up, not with the deliberation you have come to associate with such an action, but with a listlessness that was out of place at the normally egotistical man. His face was finally within your sight, and the first thing you could notice was just how expressionless it was. No firey anger, no cold wrath or indignation, not even the contempt you expected to see. Just a plain neutral expression, with the only indication of emotion being his eyes, which just looked plain dead.
He just stared at you like that for a minute, before he finally deigned to speak. "Not a cherished friend, sir. She was my cherished lover." He paused for a moment after that, as his expression somehow became even more deadened, his gaze glancing around the room to notice Emily and Mew, hardly reacting to their presence, before looking back at you. "I presume you are here for revenge then for that little girl I killed. I don't know how she's alive right now, but I can say I don't honestly care about that anymore. I don't care much about anything, really. Just do want you wish, and be done with me. The sooner, the better."
Reiner chuckles. "I see you know when you've been beaten. Honestly, my condolences for Kyubi. It didn't have to come to that, you know. I wasn't initially planning on having you hunted down, and would have just let you be to find me on your own terms later down the line. I'm not a difficult man to find, after all, and I have far more pressing concerns than you this week. The worst you might have suffered by my hand before was simply hurt pride as long as everything stayed reasonably polite."
He sighs. "But then you had to go and lose your temper, and take it out on someone who had no reason to be involved in any of this. Someone who had not slighted you in the least, and had done her best to even try and please you. I can't say I was completely surprised, and I was even a little impressed at just how well you cleaned up most of the things that would have lead back to what you'd done, minus the obvious burn marks and small amount of blood you'd left behind under that tree. It was just enough for Mew to lead me right to your dirty work. And just in time for her to bring Emily back to life as well, though it's unfortunate that she wasn't able to do the same for Smeargle by that time.
"Monologuing aside, as you can probably imagine, Emily is not very pleased with you. Neither am I, really, but I'm not the one who was killed recently. Nor did I lose a close companion of mine as well. So, I think it's only fair that Emily gets first dibs. What do you think?"
