One of the reason Ven didn't take a stove was that he wanted to keep his hands free just in case he had need for both of the at the same time, like snapping a guard's neck, beating someone into unconsciousness, or just conducted more thorough searches. Besides, Shiva and Nathan holding one will bring plenty of low lighting to the area, making it less likely to trip over your own two feet on traps and Scimitars!
