Because it would be PERFECT for HP breeding. And would not ruin the point of breeding XD
Problem with that, Monkey, is some people (like me) don't care about HP or getting perfect IV's, as longs as they are relatively high. I'd breed all my Pokémon to be 6 30 IV across the board, as one IV does not make a lot of difference to me. If you go the other route with the 6 0IV duplidunce, It would work, but people who are no hard core breeder would just box it and never let it the sight of the daycare.
If duplicats are going to be an Event Pokémon, the devs are going to have to make very carefully.
Now, I would also like to note this: Aside from Hidden Power Fairy and Dark, every Hidden Power Type in Uranium is reliant on only 4 IVs: Defense, Sp Atk, Sp Def, and Speed. If all 6 IVs are odd, you get Fairy. If the 4 mentioned are odd and at least one of the other 2 is even, you get Dark. And every other combination of IVs results in a different type, but they really only depend on 4 of the IVs. All you'd technically need for proper Hidden Power breeding in Uranium is a Duplicat with IVs of 30 in Defense, Sp Atk, Sp Def, and Speed. Its HP and Atk IVs could be anything else and the hardcore breeders would be happy.
And in a competitive environment, every IV matters. If you don't have perfect IVs on something you can breed, then you're shortchanging yourself and putting yourself at a disadvantage compared to most other players. It's not noticeable with most of the stats, but it's extremely noticeable for Speed. Potential speed ties against the same species become speed disadvantages, and that really hurts for pokemon that would otherwise benefit from winning the potential speed tie (ex: Yatagaryu).
. I can see the reason to have perfect 31 in speed (the one stat that rules them all), but I can deal with having a slight disadvantage in the rest of the IVs. While they would impact my preformance in comp., I'd imagine that it be relatively minor (for me; for others, maybe not so much).
Like the wind, I come and go as I please... but I am always there to provide a comforting breeze.
