Reiner listens rather attentively, noting the information down mentally for later.  "Well then, that's all rather interesting.  Sounds like you've been having a particularly busy week.  If I happen to have the time, maybe I can help ya out with that 'vampire,' particularly since I've got a pretty clear reason to worry about them if we're out and about at night for some reason.  Well, until then, I need to drag myself to the Center and get my pokemon healed and ankle fixed up, so maybe I'll see ya around in a little bit."

Internally, he's struggling to avoid panicking.  Clair was DEAD serious.  She was doing everything she could to crush his primary strategies and drag out a battle with him for as long as possible, but also end it as fast as she can...and that relic of great power...talking his way out was going to be difficult, if not impossible, but winning a fair battle against her was looking to be quite the mountain to scale as well...whether she was doing it intentionally or not, he was going to HAVE to fight like a member of Team Rocket if he wanted to win that battle...
