'What's this talk about subverting expectation and throwing everything away? I thought you were trying to work towards to goal of giving those old fuddy duddies quite a doozy of a pummeling, but now you are talking like this. What the deal here, Reiner?'

He mentally sighs, but he visibly relaxes.  'Like I said before, Valarie gave me a lot to think about.  You did too, however indirectly.  And ya know what?  There's more than one way to prove the Elders wrong.  To change Blackthorn.  To get that revenge I so desperately desire.  I'm going to laugh when I show them just how wrong they are about me, just like with how they were wrong about Lance, and I hope it'll give Dragon Tamers across the region some food for thought concerning these traditions since a repeat mistake can hardly be called a fluke.  You, Emily, Valarie, and even Kyubi...you've all given me a chance that nobody else has.  A chance to prove I'm not the person everyone else seems to think I am, that I'm strong beyond a show of force.  I refuse to be a mere tool of both the Elders and Giovanni.  I think that's the part I most dislike about Blackthorn's tradition, thinking about it.  Almost all Dragon Tamers in the Tohjo area are tied to them directly, report to them, are approved by them...it's not too different from Team Rocket's system, thinking about it.  It works, but it kills off the potential of those who aren't accepted by the system.  I want everyone who says the name Reiner Arendse to do so because of my own accomplishments, not because I was an invaluable cog in a machine, and Team Rocket can't offer me that even if I become an Executive.
