Absol nudges Nathan back into the cavern, cuffs Kirlia again, and yips at the purple gem on its pedestal.

Nathan has to blink a few times...hmmm...he'd missed something that obvious?  Maybe he just wasn't thinking straight right now...wonder at being in the presence of a Legend...fear for what might have happened during the Running...anger that Ventus undoubtedly did his best to meddle where he wasn't wanted...caution lest he anger a being that could fry everything that defined him with a mere touch...relief that whatever danger was coming hadn't immediately affected Shiva...Nathan wasn't entirely sure how he was going to handle it all...

But it all starts with that gem and Kirlia, apparently...

"I'm sorry, Absol, Mesprit, Kirlia...guess I'm a little too caught up in myself right now, and missed the obvious...Kirlia, go and touch the gem, please.  Whatever needs to happen, let's just do it."
