Given your theory on meeting the requirements of the other members of the Lake Trio, having a very high Will Score could score you bonus points with them, given that they each represent a facet of sentient being. Azelf in particular might be more willing to give you the time of day if you build up a really high Will, now that I think about it. Well, assuming you get the chance to or another one of the party doesn't beat you to the punch, that is.

Given that Mesprit is waiting specifically for Nathan from all appearances, I don't think who gets to the others first is going to matter, and I'm not sure Azelf is going to particularly care about their current Will score in that case.
